Mind-Blowing Shocker: Trump’s Strongest Supports Are Former Democrats

I feel a great sadness in the force, ladies and gentlemen, for according to an analysis conducted by Civis Analytics, 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump “leads across all major demographic categories”:

Trump Demographics Lead

Moreover, the very unhappy folks at The New York Times reported last Thursday that his strongest support lies with “self-identified Republicans who nonetheless are registered as Democrats,” i.e., former Democrats who finally woke up and switched their allegiances.

But instead of admitting that maybe their favored party needs to change, the Times pulled its usual shtick by tying areas of the United States where Trump polls best to those areas of the country whose residents are most likely to perform “racially charged” Google searches:

That Mr. Trump’s support is strong in similar areas does not prove that most or even many of his supporters are motivated by racial animus. But it is consistent with the possibility that at least some are. The same areas where racial animus is highest in the Google data also tend to have older and less educated people, and Mr. Trump tends to fare better among those groups — though the effect of Google data remains just as strong after controlling for these other factors.

In other words, these former Democrats switched party not because the current manifestation of the democratic party sucks, but because they finally decided to embrace their inner racist.

And not surprisingly, this thesis fits in line perfectly with the rest of the malarkey liberals believe — namely that, according to Breitbart, “[a] secure national border is only important if you are secretly biased against Hispanics,” “
  • pposition to abortion is borne of a pathological psychological desire to control women’s bodies” and “upport for traditional marriage is really just code for irrational hatred of people who happen to be gay.”

Given this line of thinking, it makes perfect sense that they think former Democrats switched allegiance because, much like Trump, they hate everybody and anybody.

Except that we Trump supports don’t hate people; we hate BAD POLICIES, and the policies put forth by the Democratic party are simply atrocious!
