Fully agree but feel the chronic and nasty exchanges on here are due to but one poster who turns EVERYTHING into a personal hate Trump jihad. Deal strongly with him and the Forum will improve immeasurably.

Not today.  I had nothing to do with the outburst by the poster in question today.

Yes.  Carling was the instigator.

No I was the instigator, and had very good reasons to do so. Carling piled on late in the game but it doesn't fall on him/her.

Duly noted.  You've made your choice in allowing an obvious liar and a troll take take over your board.  Please ban me because knowing myself I'll come back to protect the less aggressive posters than I am from this insincere and dishonest bully.  Sinkspur is a poison to this board and a known liar on other board.  To everyone else except this Toxic Troll, best of luck and happy trails.  Except DC Patriot, too, since he chose a side as well and advocates my ban, which is a disappointment

So those two can piss off, and Myst, you deserve what this place is going to become.
Carling has an obsession with sinkspur. Sinkspur has a strong position about Trump.

The first is not okay, but the second is.

Carling - request granted. Banned for one week to think things over.

Sink - stop playing the victim card, you are 60, not 6. And keep the Trump stuff on Trump threads only, I was not joking yesterday.

Does this thread go back on topic, or does it get locked?

DITTO, Owner needs to do something and if they choose not to do so it is their call.

I expressed my personal opinions of sinkspur directly to management long ago and everything I said at that time has come to fruition. Never - the - less Myst has made her decision and I will either live with it or leave. That's the way it's supposed to work in a free society so I will not be filing suit in order to get her to comply with my wishes.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Not playing a victim.  Just pointing out that I had nothing to do with starting, prolonging, or ending this brouhaha.

I will gladly to defer to Myst, self-terminate as a result of a group vote, or leave if I get my fill, if it comes to that.

That said, what I won't do is sit back knowing what I've known for months and let anyone continue to perpetrate a fraud. When someone has a certain posting pattern it becomes clear that they are working toward an insincere and unfriendly agenda. Not that I advocate banning them, just full disclosure.

That last, "leave if I get my fill", is precisely what I am going to do. I am taking a voluntary hiatus because of the obnoxious conduct of one poster who even Mystery stated has driven away a number of far better posters than he. Why it is allowed to continue is beyond me but I won't be back until he is either muted or sent packing (preferably the latter).

And doing that gives him exactly what he wants.

I feel oblivious. I have been posting on and off all day, while working and watching the House marathon, which I am enjoying very much btw. I had no idea any of this was going on.

I certainly have no intention of rekindling any residual embers, but just want to add how interesting it was to read this thread. The drama is so much more incisive when you know all the players and the background of the scene. It was almost Shakespearian if you think of in terms of the characters entering and making their case, threatening suicide, or defending others. Characters leaving and new characters coming on stage. But I digress.

Anyway. I hope all is resolved now and we can get back to what passes for normal. I don't quit know how to say this without seeming to make fun or something, but I enjoyed reading the thread and Bravo!

It is unfathomable to me that Myst cannot see what you are up to but it's  very obvious that she can't  or won't.

GREGORY

The quarrel is between our masters and us their men.

SAMPSON

'Tis all one, I will show myself a tyrant: when I
have fought with the men, I will be cruel with the
maids, and cut off their heads.

GREGORY

    The heads of the maids?

SAMPSON

    Ay, the heads of the maids, or their maidenheads;
take it in what sense thou wilt.

GREGORY

They must take it in sense that feel it.

SAMPSON

Me they shall feel while I am able to stand: and
'tis known I am a pretty piece of flesh.

GREGORY

'Tis well thou art not fish; if thou hadst, thou
hadst been poor John. Draw thy tool! here comes
two of the house of the Montagues.

SAMPSON

My naked weapon is out: quarrel, I will back thee.

GREGORY

How! turn thy back and run?

SAMPSON

    Fear me not.

GREGORY

    No, marry; I fear thee!

SAMPSON

Let us take the law of our sides; let them begin.

GREGORY

I will frown as I pass by, and let them take it as
    they list.

SAMPSON

    Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them;
which is a disgrace to them, if they bear it.

    Enter ABRAHAM and BALTHASAR

ABRAHAM

Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON

I do bite my thumb, sir.

ABRAHAM

Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON

[Aside to GREGORY] Is the law of our side, if I say
    ay?

GREGORY

    No.

SAMPSON

No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I
    bite my thumb, sir.

GREGORY

    Do you quarrel, sir?

ABRAHAM

    Quarrel sir! no, sir.

SAMPSON

If you do, sir, I am for you: I serve as good a man as you.

ABRAHAM

    No better.

SAMPSON

    Well, sir.

GREGORY

Say 'better:' here comes one of my master's kinsmen.

SAMPSON

    Yes, better, sir.

ABRAHAM

    You lie.

SAMPSON

Draw, if you be men. Gregory, remember thy swashing blow.

    They fight

    Enter BENVOLIO

BENVOLIO

    Part, fools!
Put up your swords; you know not what you do.

    Beats down their swords

    Enter TYBALT

TYBALT

What, art thou drawn among these heartless hinds?
Turn thee, Benvolio, look upon thy death.

BENVOLIO

I do but keep the peace: put up thy sword,
Or manage it to part these men with me.

TYBALT

What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word,
As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee:
    Have at thee, coward!

    They fight

Enter, several of both houses, who join the fray; then enter Citizens, with clubs

First Citizen

Clubs, bills, and partisans! strike! beat them down!
Down with the Capulets! down with the Montagues!

Enter CAPULET in his gown, and LADY CAPULET

CAPULET

What noise is this? Give me my long sword, ho!

LADY CAPULET

A crutch, a crutch! why call you for a sword?

CAPULET

My sword, I say! Old Montague is come,
And flourishes his blade in spite of me.

    Enter MONTAGUE and LADY MONTAGUE

I agree with you on this one DC. Sink has been here since day 1 or 2 and I hope he comes back soon.

Yeah....like midnight.

A little empathy goes a long way.   Just because a few cherished posters show up and complain...

He called me a Trumpster-Diver to my face today.   I laughed.

I read Victor's acclaimed post referring to 'me' as a yahoo and uneducated.  I laughed.

And come November, I'm going to laugh again.
