Breitbart: The Hill, Politico Cover Up Pelosi Glee Over Ryan Budget Bill

The Hill and Politico, both of which report on congressional activity, failed to mention the happiness with which the $1.1 trillion budget deal was greeted by Democrats – most notably California Rep. Nancy Pelosi who said GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan "gave away the store," Breitbart News reports.

Politico wrote that both Republicans and Democrats were able to claims wins, suggesting both sides got something in the compromise.

The Hill reported the story as a Ryan win.

But Breitbart notes that it reported that Democrats were claiming almost total victory.

"All three goals we had, we accomplished," said Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.

"Democrats had an amazingly good year," said New York Sen. Chuck Schumer.

"This was an extraordinarily big victory," added Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer.

RollCall.com did report on the Democratic victory, Breitbart added, headling its story, "Pelosi's Victory Lap."

Many Democrats were initially reluctant to sign onto the bill until leadership clued them in to how well the party was making out.

Other publications, including The Washington Post and The New York Times, did report Pelosi's "gave away the store" quote, but buried it lower in their stories under the bland headlines "Congress passes budget deal and heads home for the year" (Washington Post) and "Congress Passes $1.8 Trillion Spending Measure" (New York Times.)
