ISIS releases Jihad Song in Chinese

On December 6, 2015, the Islamic State's (ISIS) Al-Hayat Media Center released an audio recording of a nashid [religious song] in Chinese titled "Mujahid," reports MEMRI, a Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor.

The song, which was released via ISIS-affiliated social media accounts, calls on Chinese-speaking Muslims to join the jihad, and contains many of the ideas typical of ISIS's recruitment messages, e.g., that Muslims must liberate themselves from enslavement, that ISIS's victory is near, that it is the religious obligation of every Muslim to wage jihad, and that a true mujahid is willing and even eager to die in battle so as to attain martyrdom.

Interestingly, the lyrics are somewhat evocative of Chinese revolutionary rhetoric and at one point they seem to intentionally echo the Chinese national anthem.

The following is a translation of the song's lyrics:

[Chorus:]

"We are Mujahid.
"Our impudent enemies will be terrified.
"Being killed in battle on this killing field
"Is our dream.

"[We have been] enslaved for an era.
"[We are] leaving behind those humiliating memories.
"If we remain in a deep sleep without knowledge,
"The nightmare will continue.

"Stand up, Muslim brethren,
"Now in the world there is a new era.
"You must have faith and courage
"And uphold the lost doctrine.

[Chorus]

"We revere [Allah] the Protector ,
"The Quran and the directives of God.
"There is no person or power
"That can stop our advance.

"Struggle for guidance,
"[For] the commands of the mighty Allah.
"Take up weapons to fight
"According to Muhammad’s directives.

[Chorus]

"Islam’s brilliance is brimming over throughout this world.
"Letting it shine again
"Is the goal of our desperate struggle .

"Stand up, Muslim brethren,
"Now is the time to be determined.
"You must have faith and courage
"And uphold the lost doctrine.

[Chorus]

How ISIS managed to record a song after finding musical instruments and drums haram, remains a mystery.

Oh yes ISIS, screw with the Chinese. Always smart to mess with someone who can visit brutalities on you that even you haven't thought of yet.
The Republic is lost.
