Trevor FitzGibbon was Obama's Communications Director in New Mexico on his original campaign. And that made him left-wing royalty. His PR firm, FitzGibbon Media, represented major left-wing organizations from MoveOn.org to Planned Parenthood, from Color of Change to Everytown.

From abortion to illegal aliens, from gun control to race-baiting, if there was a left-wing cause, Trevor FitzGibbon was on it.

FitzGibbon Media clients included branches of the ACLU, the Bradley Manning Defense Fund, Common Cause, AFL-CIO, DailyKos, American Federal of Teachers, Correct the Record, the Ford Foundation, Brave New Films, Global Zero, Islamic Relief, Planned Parenthood, the Julian Assange Defense Fund, Google, Rock the Vote, the Intercept, Wikileaks, Wikipedia, the Nation and VDay, Eve Ensler's movement which claims to fight rape. It didn't seem to bother Eve Ensler that Trevor FitzGibbon was also representing Julian Assange, a progressive rapist. And his latest antics likely won't bother her either.

But while FitzGibbon Media claimed to be so very feminist and progressive, life was hell for the women who worked there.

Multiple female employees came forward with accusations of sexual harassment and assault against FitzGibbon,

A joint statement from former FitzGibbon media staffers put out Thursday evening said staffers had “reported over a half dozen incidents of sexual harassment and at least two involving sexual assault committed by Trevor FitzGibbon against his own employees.”

“For decades, Trevor presented himself a champion of the progressive movement, claiming to support and respect women and feminist issues, from equal pay to reproductive rights, but his actions prove a hypocrisy so great that FitzGibbon Media closed its doors today, as we could no longer continue working under his leadership,” they said.

Shades of Bill Clinton. But the dirty little secret of left-wing orgs is that they tend to be horrible abuse places to work... especially for women. And this went back to his Fenton gig.

During his prior employment at Fenton Communications, a major PR firm, a female colleague accused him of sexual harassment, Bill Werde, Fenton’s current CEO, confirmed to The Huffington Post on Thursday night.

The background there, according to FitzGibbon, "Fenton Communications hired Trevor after 9/11 to provide the lead media relations against the Bush Administration and its rush to war." But his rush to rape was another matter.

And yet every lefty org kept throwing money at him. As did Google, Wikipedia and Bill de Blasio. Until it got too bad to ignore.

While MoveOn has distanced itself from Trevor FitzGibbon and expressed sympathy for his victims, Eve Ensler and VDay have remained silent. So much for their feminism or concern for rape victims.

Trevor FitzGibbon was just too useful to the left for them to take a close look at what he was up to.

But increasingly, it’s FitzGibbon Media that gets the first call whenever a huge progressive moment is about to happen anywhere in the country...

One of his first clients was MoveOn.org. FitzGibbon recalls planning to buy a full-page ad in The New York Times that was a remake of the famous nuclear disarmament daisy ad with the ticking doomsday clock. The goal was to raise $50,000 for the print ad, but an e-mail campaign ended up with over $200,000 in small donations. So the print ad became a television commercial. It was a watershed moment: Move On was the first to have big success with the small donation fundraising model — the same one Barack Obama used on his road to the presidency.

In 2008, FitzGibbon went to be a communications director for the Obama campaign during the New Mexico primary. Riding high on the success of the election, and flush with new media contacts, he felt it was finally time start his own strategy firm.

Firm slash progressive rape van.
