Nigel Farage: Trump has gone too far

The leader of Great Britain’s most anti-immigration party says Donald Trump's idea to ban most Muslims from entering the U.S. goes too far.


Nigel Farage, the leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), told the BBC that he disagrees with Trump’s call.


“I think Mr. Trump’s somewhat knee-jerk reaction to this, saying that all Muslims should be banned from coming into America, was perhaps for him a political mistake too far,” Farage said, according to multiple reports.
Farage added, "It is up to the Republican party and people in open primaries to decide whether they think what he said is acceptable or not."


“He is somebody who keeps pushing the boundaries of debate and that can be a healthy thing in politics," Farage said, according to BuzzFeed.

Close the damn borders.  We have no obligation to accept ANYONE from ANYWHERE into our borders until and unless we are sure we know who we're admitting.  It's good old common sense.

The same logic gets bandied about here quite often that was used to speak of anti-Catholic immigration. Back then, Catholicism was not seen as a religion but a loyalty to the sovereign Vatican City. Now Islam is argued as not a religion but a loyalty to some violent "sharia" law that, I'd venture to guess, the opponents only "know" about through anti-Islamic screeds of dubious credibility they read on the Internet (may of which have been shared on this very forum).

At some point there has to be a decision on what constitutes a religion and what does not.
