Mayor Bans Trump
« on: December 08, 2015, 03:34:12 pm »
Sorry, but I see this Mayor as a complete a**hole.

Kriseman bans Trump from St. Pete

St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman tweeted that Donald Trump is banned from the city, after the GOP presidential candidate called for a "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

Trump said the ban should apply "until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on" with regard to the attitudes of Muslims toward Americans and terrorism, said a statement from the Trump campaign.

I am hereby barring Donald Trump from entering St. Petersburg until we fully understand the dangerous threat posed by all Trumps.
    — Rick Kriseman (@Kriseman) December 8, 2015

"Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life," the statement quoted Trump as saying.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

You wanna bet? More people despise Trump than like him, and, day by day, he's pissing off more and more of those who might like him.

He'll need 100% of the white vote to even get close to winning.

I'll bet if Khalid Sheikh Mohammed were able to do a speech in the town, the mayor would have no objection.

Not really since Trump actually has the law on his side while this mayor is just a moron.

If the Democrat/GOP Uniparty objects to Trumps proposal, they should consider changing their laws.

Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate

So let me get this straight...a U.S. mayor wants to ban a U.S. presidential candidate because he wants to ban a group of people from an area with known terrorists that want to kill us from entering this country.  Got it. :thud:

The mayor has decided, when it comes to bombastic grandstanding, if you can't beat Trump, may as well join him.

You're intent on spamming every thread with that dreck, which could easily be overturned by a veto-proof majority of Congress.

If you don't like the law then change it. Going into hysterics at Trump because Trump urges using the law merely damages the intellectual credibility of the critics.

If you want to get it straight...Trump said he wants to ban all muslims.

Rand Paul and I think Marco Rubio have called for the ban of people from terrorist regions.  Rubio and Paul are still welcome in 100% of Florida.

In Rubio's case, it all depends on what part of Florida.

I had forgotten Jimmaaaaah Caaaaatah had banned Iranians during the Iranian crisis but I'll bet the mayor wouldn't ban him even though Caaaaatah has already done what Trump says we should do.

From the thread on the subject... What Trump actually said.....
"Trump called for a "total and complete shutdown" of Muslims entering the United States until elected leaders can "figure out what is going on."

How is that a BAN?

Trump was scheduled to travel to Jordon next month, but it has been canceled. Probably for the same reason. It would have been a huge embarrassment and diplomatic blunder before he even steps into the white house  to learn that Jordon banned his travel into their country - a NATO country - all because of his position.

He's supposed to go to Jordan too to meet with King Abdullah. Wonder if that will still happen?  Wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

That's right it was Jordon, not Turkey.    Still the trip was canceled.

Good. Abdullah is one of the good guys and he's not going to meet with a bigot.  Netanyahu should cancel his meeting with Trump too.

I was just thinking that - he probably needs to ban Carter, just to be fair and consistent.

The mayor has decided, when it comes to bombastic grandstanding, if you can't beat Trump, may as well join him.

Trump's bombast is legendary. He's always engaged in The Art of the Deal in everything he does. That's one of the principles in his book: go in big.

Few realize, however, that when the doors close behind him, and he's in negotiations, anyone who's been in that room with him will tell you, the bombast and bluster end and serious, common sense proposals are worked out.

What most people object to is the bombast part; but they usually have no objections to playing on his golf courses or staying in his hotels. Because those world-class amenities are the end result of his tough negotiating skills.
