At a campaign stop in Iowa yesterday, Cruz suggested that there 'has been some vicious rhetoric on the left blaming those who are pro-life' for Friday's Colorado Springs shooting, which left a police officer and two civilians dead.
The 57-year-old suspect made remarks about 'baby parts' when he was brought into custody, CNN reported.
When a reporter specifically asked Cruz about those comments, the Texas senator and GOP presidential candidate countered them with other reports that came out in the news.
'It's also been reported that he was registered as an independent and a woman and a transgendered leftist activist,' Cruz said, according to the Texas Tribune.
I haven't heard anything about that guy being transgender???
