I tried some once. It's way overpriced and not noticeably better than your typical local distributor's ice cream. (Around here it's Perry's, which admittedly sets a very high standard for a price roughly half of Ben & Jerry's.)

It's really cool, if you can pull it off successfully.

Starbucks started like that, however Starbucks is so common, corporate, and commercial these days, I think they have lost most of the Leftist cachet they used to have, although there still remains a residual amount leftover.

The latest company to try this trick is Chipotle. They are always very careful to market their corporate brand as being very Left politically.

I wish them luck with that. It's not easy to do, especially if you serve meat. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out. Only because I was thinking about trying it myself. I'll still be who I am, but if I can make Libs pay two or three times the price for some crap I am selling, simply by strategic marketing, then I would be losing money not to do it.

Which has it's amusing aspect as Ben & Jerry no longer own Ben & Jerry's. It's owned by Unilever, an [horrors] international conglomerate.
