It took SEVEN pages..this time??

If he is telling the truth now. We've had several cases where he said something that backfired and the he denied ever saying it.

I'm just not buying the "He didn't say that" defense.   Nice try.

NEWTON, Iowa (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has voiced support for creating a mandatory database to track Muslims in the United States - the latest in an escalating series of responses following the deadly attacks in Paris.

"I would certainly implement that. Absolutely," Trump told an NBC News reporter between campaign events Thursday in Newton, Iowa, according to video posted on MSNBC.com.

He said Muslims would be signed up at "different places," adding, "It's all about management."

Asked whether registering would be mandatory, Trump responded, "They have to be."

If you bother to actually get well informed, it was not only Japanese, but Germans and Italians as well.

And it was NOT everybody, only certain categories. And there were ways to avoid internment, one being military service.

And in the west, it was not controversial. People understood it was protection against a risk, plain and simple.

In retrospect it is easy to criticize. In real time, not so much. And finally nobody got abused in the camps. Maybe their feelings were hurt, but that was the limit.

I knew some people that came from internment families. Two in particular, in my cohort, and served in the military during Vietnam.

There are times when we need to decide if we let the Constitution be a suicide pact, or a pragmatic practical guide.

Follow up on the original story, Trump says he never said this or even responded to this reporter's question.

Yes, I'm certainly not a Trumpkin, but I am a big fan of truth-telling.  Looks like the truth was edited out of this "reporting" to make Trump look bad.

Quote
Reporter: Should there be a database system that tracks Muslims who are in this country?

Trump: There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems, and today you can do it. But right now we need to have a border, we have to have strength, we have to have a wall, and we cannot let what’s happening to this country happen any longer.

Reporter: Is that something your White House would like to implement?

Donald Trump: I would certainly implement that. Absolutely.

It's why any thread title that contains, "Trump says...", or "....says Trump." needs to be vetted.

We've got members that scrub the net daily for articles on Donald Trump...and the more negative they are, the larger the erection.

Come on admit it, Trump supporters do the same to anyone threatening Trump in the polls, and right now that seems to be Carson, Rubio, and Cruse.    And on this particular story nobody had to scrub the web - its been on national news on every channel.

Another case of the MSM and the DEMS in a panic...Hillary and Sanders are losing ground.  Meanwhile, Trump is still leading in the polls and Cruz and Rubio have gained momentum.

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
