Flashback--Archbishop of Mosul: ‘I Lost My Diocese to Islam…You in The West Will Become The Victims of Muslims’

The Catholic archbishop of Mosul, Iraq, who lost his diocese to the Islamic State last year and is now in exile in Erbil (Iraqi Kurdistan), warned that the suffering in Iraq was only a prelude of what European and Western Christians will “suffer in the near future,” and stressed that the West is endangering itself by welcoming “an ever-growing number of Muslims.”

He also emphasized that while the West says “all men are equal,” Islam “does not say that all men are equal,” and “their values” are not our values.

"Our sufferings today are the prelude of those that you, Europeans and Western Christians, will also suffer in the near future," said Archbishop Emil Nona, as reported in Corriere Della Sera [1] on Aug. 9, 2014.

"I lost my diocese,” said the archbishop.  “The physical setting of my apostolate has been occupied by Islamic radicals who want us converted or dead. But my community is still alive."

"Please, try to understand us," he said. "Your liberal and democratic principles are worth nothing here. You must consider again our reality in the Middle East, because you are welcoming in your countries an ever-growing number of Muslims.”

“You are also in danger,” he continued [2].  “You must take strong and courageous decisions, even at the cost of contradicting your principles.

“You think all men are equal, but that is not true: Islam does not say that all men are equal,” said the archbishop.  “Your values are not their values. If you do not understand this soon enough, you will become the victims of the enemy you have welcomed in your home."

Emil Shimoun Nona is the archbishop for the Chaldean Catholic diocese of Mosul, which is in northern Iraq. The Chaldean Catholic Church is an Eastern Rite church in full communion with the bishop of Rome, Pope Francis, and the Catholic Church worldwide.

Reportedly, all Christians have fled Mosul, many of them into Jordan. The Islamic State jihadists told the Christians  in Mosul in June 2014 to either convert to Islam, pay a tax or be killed, reported the New York Times [3].

Mosul is Iraq’s second largest city and has been a home to Christians for 2,000 years.

The Islamic State is the group that is responsible for the Nov. 13 massacre in Paris, France, which killed at least 129 people and injured 352 people.

The man quoted above knows what he's talking about.

I posted a response to andy58 the other day, and he replied back, regarding our traditional precepts about "equality" and my assertions as to why we must abandon them -- at least temporarily -- if we're to win our struggle to save The West.

There isn't much time left.
Perhaps 100 years at most.
Maybe not half that.

We can face reality.
Or, we can keep clinging to Jefferson's noble but fanciful dream as personified in The Declaration.

And we will cling to it right up to the moment that the sharp blade of the islamic sword is pressed against our throats...
