48. Hillary was leading in 2008, lost Iowa and never recovered even though she won NH. Giluliani lost the first three primaries in 2008, was leading in national polls and poured all his resources into FL. When he lost FL, he was done.
Primaries are what determine nomination winners, not national polls. Nobody cares if Trump leads in Texas, cuz by the first Tuesday in March, it will all be over.
