I doubt that you realize it, but you just illustrated why Sanders could win because he has appeal.
You ranted about non-economic topics to oppose a guy making economic appeals.
Conservatism has failed to sell capitalism for far, far too long. Chief executives make 300 times the workers. That argument has broad appeal. Many who call themselves conservatives are in part economic populists, they envy the rich, and want something done about their vast wealth.
And you come back and think you will win an argument, by discussing social issues, with young voters that already disagree with you?
Conservatives have almost lost interest in selling capitalism.
It is a mess. Selling capitalism has been made harder because we have a public school system that instills a love of socialism in students. Capitalism is superior, but the very thing that makes it superior is the thing that makes it hard to sell, self reliance, and personal responsibility.
Additionally, we are incapable of addressing some flaws of capitalism,
The CofC sponsoring any and all efforts to get illegals into America to drive down the cost of labor.
Offshoring at the drop of a hat, regardless of the impact to the populace, or national security.
The incestuous relationship that many boards of directors have with executive staff.
We will go socialist, if for no other reason than to find out why we shouldn't.
