Police-shootings 'fantasy' explodes on Black Lives Matter
Investigation finds 'vast majority' of those killed initiated confrontation

A major U.S. newspaper has news for Black Lives Matter activists they might find hard to swallow: 95 percent of police shootings are justified.

An ongoing investigative report by the Washington Post has tracked every police shooting this year. The data paints a picture of American law enforcement personnel that is very different from those created by race activists and even President Obama.

“We as a society, particularly given our history, have to take this [movement] seriously,” Obama said Oct. 22 while speaking at a White House forum on criminal justice, WND reported. “And one of the ways of avoiding the politics of this and losing the moment is everybody just stepping back for a second and understanding that the African-American community is not just making this up.”

The newspaper has tracked 827 police shootings this year. Its statistics are broken down by race, gender, age, state, threat level, mental state of the suspect and the type of weapon used against officers.

“Only a small number of the shootings – roughly 5 percent – occurred under the kind of circumstances that raise doubt and draw public outcry,” the newspaper reported Oct. 24. Its piece that day was on 21-year-old Wisconsin Trooper Trevor Casper, who died March 24 when he exchanged fire with a bank robber.

Suspect Steven Timothy Snyder, 38, shot nine armor-piercing bullets before he was killed.

“In 74 percent of all fatal police shootings, the individuals had already fired shots, brandished a gun or attacked a person with a weapon or their bare hands, according to an analysis of actions immediately preceding the shootings, which draws on reports from law enforcement agencies and local media coverage,” the Post reported. “These 595 cases include fatal shootings that followed a wide range of violent crimes, including shootouts, stabbings, hostage situations, carjackings and assaults. … The 5 percent of cases that are often second-guessed include individuals who police said failed to follow their orders, made sudden movements or were accidentally shot. In another 4 percent of cases.”

The Black Lives Matter movement traces its origin to the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida; the 2014 shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri; the 2014 death of Eric Garner in Long Island, New York; and the April 2015 death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, Maryland.

In “Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America,” Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson – a true black leader whom many affectionately call “the other Jesse” – shows how the civil rights establishment has made a lucrative career out of keeping racial strife alive in America.

Supporters of the group describe America as a racist country with a legal system stacked against minorities.

“I was going to tell Bernie how racist this city is, even with all of these progressives, but you’ve already done that for me,” activist Marissa Johnson told a Seattle crowd after taking over a Bernie Sanders campaign event Aug. 8, the Daily Beast reported.

Black Lives Matter activist Julius Jones also confronted former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a Keene, New Hampshire, campaign event in Aug. 11.

“And until we, as a country, and then the person who’s in the seat that you seek, actually addresses the anti-blackness current that is America’s first drug – we’re in a meeting about drugs, right? America’s first drug is free black labor and turning black bodies into profit, and the mass incarceration system mirrors an awful lot like the prison plantation system,” Jones said. “It’s a similar thread, right? And until someone takes that message and speaks that truth to white people in this country, so that we can actually take on anti-blackness as a founding problem in this country, I don’t believe that there is going to be a solution.”

Clinton told the activists their racial claims were accurate.

“Your analysis is totally fair. It’s historically fair. It’s psychologically fair. It’s economically fair. But you’re going to have to come together as a movement and say, ‘Here’s what we want done about it,’ because you can get lip service from as many white people as you can pack into Yankee Stadium and a million more like it, who are going to say, ‘Oh, we get it. We get it. We’re going to be nicer.’ OK? That’s not enough, at least in my book.”
