Designated hitter in the World Series: DH in KC, pitcher hits in NY.I love the DH. 98% of pitchers can't hit and most can't bunt worth a damn either. It's a wasted position in the hitting lineup.
I've been reading (will try to find the site) that the Mets will have a 'bona fide' DH in their batting order tomorrow night. Hence, my confusion. Thanks for your response.l
What they mean is that the Mets have players from their bench that can fulfill that roll effectively. In their case, they have been platooning two players - Michael Cuddyer and rookie Michael Conforto in leftfield (Conforto against right handed pitchers and Cuddyer against left handers). They can play one of them at DH and both can be the lineup together. They also have infielder Kelly Johnson that can serve in that roll if they face a left-handed pitcher and don't want to put Conforto in the lineup.
Yes. The Series starts in KC. Predection: KC in 6.
Oops, my mistake. Had Game 1 in NY. Nevermind.Prediction: Mets in 5
You could be right. I predict this will be one of the least-watched World Series in modern history. MLB lost its biggest draw when the Cubs got blown out. Anybody other than baseball afficionados excited about "that other" New York team? And Kansas City? Who dat?
Hey, but look on the bright side. Two very good teams; great baseball; cliffhangers. I'm looking forward to the Series; but then I love the game.
