Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a member of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, on Sunday defended the panel's investigation, following a contentious hearing with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
"Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace questioned Jordan on what new information was learned from the marathon testimony the Democratic presidential front-runner gave on Thursday.
“I think it is new to tell the American people that she said something completely different in private,” he said. “She was telling the truth in private, she was telling spin to the American people.”
After the 2012 terrorist attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Clinton said the attack was in response to a film, but her emails later showed that she had told her daughter Chelsea that the attack was planned.
Jordan said Clinton and her team have refused to allow a neutral third party to examine any deleted emails that are found by the FBI.
“So we have her doing all this spin the night of the attack and now when it comes to her emails she gets to determine which ones are work related and which ones aren’t and she won’t let some neutral party review them,” he said. “It calls into question her evaluation of those emails. That’s why it’s relevant.”
