Why would you compare Dana Perino to Jean Kirkpatrick?  THey didn't have the same jobs, not even close.

What if I compare you to Winston Churchill?  Would that be fair.

First, Ms Perino has inserted herself as an "expert" in the political discourse via a paid position with Fox News.  Therefore, using logic, we the public are led to believe she has the intelligence, guided by experience, to be a trustworthy source of conservative thought.

That is why I equate her (regrettably) to the role Jean Kirkpatrick so honorably performed.

I have answered your question.

She is a political commentator.  She never says she's an "expert," and nobody else does either. Nobody's an expert who comments on FOXNEWS; they're commentators offering opinions.

No you haven't answered my question.  If I compared your knowledge of WWII to that of Winston Churchill, you'd look like Ned in the First Reader.

Jean Kirkpatrick was never hired to be a commentator on a cable network.  She was also a former college professor.

So comparing Perino to Kirkpatrick is, as I said earlier, like comparing Brett Baier to Ronald Reagan.  Or you to Churchill.

This is the kind of personal attack you get away with all the time.
Why?  My guess is you have been "buddies" with the folks here from the beginning of time.  And that buys you acceptance, no matter what kind of responses you post here.

But you tell me, without attacking me, why my comparison is 'stupid'.
Go ahead.  Let loose.  The mods will leave you alone.  Promise.

I don't think sinkspur could post a weather report without listing in detail the weatherman's personal shortcomings.

If the weatherman lied about being a weatherman, like Trump lies about being a Republican, you bet I'm going to point that out.

I'm not the one listing "personal shortcomings" on this thread; famousdayandyear is listing Dana Perino's personal shortcomings.

You should be upbraiding him, not me.

This is getting to be a scary place when sinkspur is making far more sense than anyone else on the thread.

But he is.

Dana Perino isn't claiming to be a Jean Kirkpatrick, and the comparison is ridiculous.

Donald Trump is pretending to be a Republican, and he isn't.

And I'm sticking with the accuracy of calling Trump a "soft truther."

Anyone who thinks that Trump wasn't blaming Bush for 9/11 doesn't have his/her eyes open.   You guys are working too hard to make a highly flawed 'candidate' into your version of perfection.

Oh, yeah.............. and Trump's version of 9/11 IS the Democrat  PC version.

Which makes sense, since he IS a Democrat.

Dana Perino was a great press secretary for Bush.  She was very polished when presenting the talking points for his administration.  When W was attacked by the left, did she defend him?  No.  Because Rove called the shots.

She's great at pushing "bites"....ie  talking points.  Her latest being "trutherism"--probably fed to her by Rove or someone at the RNC.  As I stated earlier, IMO Dana Perino is not capable of generating an original thought.  She is a PR for the RNC--nothing more.

That was the objective of the Kirkpatrick comparison.  Jean ORIGINATED her speech and text.  Dana Perino is told what to say.  Simple really when you really give it some thought instead of just reacting to an idea you don't particularly like.

Anyone equating Dana Perino with "tyranny" is working WAY too hard to support an argument.

I disagree with much of what Perino says, but she's just a nice young woman who loves this country and is loyal to her former boss.

People who hate her need something more constructive to do with their spare time....   **nononono*

Shall we have a very politically correct 'agree to disagree'?
Something tells me Ms. Perino has trouble generating an original thought.
But, hey, let's be friends, OK?

Meh....not so sure I can agree with that.

Standing at the podium everyday in front of a HOSTILE media...unlike Josh Earnest, who has them wearing kneepads...and deflect nothing but "gotcha" questions requires an intellect and understanding of the issues.

May I ask which "liberal conspiracies" Trump is advancing?

Jeb said his brother kept America safe.  Trump responded that 9/11 happened under GWB.  That is a statement of fact.

Trump also has said that lax immigration laws helped lead to 9/11.  Jeb agrees with this opinion in his own book published in 2013.  That is a statement of fact.

Do facts even matter anymore, or is all politics emotional and personal at this time in history?

Trump is most certainly NOT a 'regular' candidate, and contrary to those here who claim otherwise, he did blame Bush for 9/11, claiming that if he had been president, it wouldn't have happened.

More Trump arrogant poppycock.

(btw, pretty much the only thing I agree on here is that Jeb Bush should not be President.  LOTS of good choices other than Trump or Bush).

And plenty of time to sort through them, as well. No need to jump to the finish line so early.

In my opinion it is over. Just presenting objective evidence here. Historically, the candidate leading in August goes on to win the nomination. That applies to both Republican and Democrat candidates.

Pundits have been predicting for months that Trump will self-destruct. That didn't happen.

Okay, since that's probably not going to happen, then which of his competitors do you think is capable of knocking Trump off his game? Jeb? Rubio? Maybe Carson cause he's closest in polls. But, does anyone think Carson really has the "stuff" to knock out Trump?

Trump's lead has been consistent, and in such a crowded field it is a huge lead for any competitor to overcome.

So which candidate can get the job done? I frankly don't see any.

She WAS good, and, as DC pointed out, in front of a hostile media. Hostile is a kind word for it, from what I remember!

I'm not sure about it being Rove that called the "don't defend" shots though - seems more a thing GWB would do on his own, as he has ever since.

Still, I take your point. She's better having been given talking points than investing the time to come up with questions or answers off her own bat.

Trump. Or Trump 2.0 if you prefer. His mouth gets ahead of his brain a LOT. He's ridden it out when it's happened so far, but it's the sort of thing that could stop him dead at any time.

The first 2 or three primaries are going to be the deciders.... :)
They will tell us if the polls are on or off and how far off.
I expect the republican field will be cut in half after the Iowa primary.
Then the question will be where will those who lost their "guy" go?

I have no particular claim of wisdom. Nothing about this cycle has been normal. I am just here as a humble observer of events, as they pass by on the screen.

The Canadians just opted for change. Younger people in America do NOT have the fears about socialism that their elders grew up hearing, learning and believing.

So if conservatives say "ooga, booga be very afraid of No. Korea and Cuba" opponents will say "look at Scandinavia, Switzerland, etc."

I expect the democrats to win anyway, for I see nothing on the Republican side to encourage me they can effectively refine and sell their product.

Personally I think Rubio is probably the individual GOP candidate who is most likely to have wide enough appeal, and speaking skills in order to win.

And of course Trump. I think he is a unique option. If nominated I will gladly vote for him.

But of course as I have often said, I will always vote for any Republican over any democrat.

Of course they don't.  Many of them have been taught that they are victims by the public school system, that those who pay the taxes are bad people, and in the mean time, those same young people are living at home in larger numbers than ever after getting a worthless B.A. degree in something like White People Are Bad Studies that their parents damn near go bankrupt in paying for in the first place.

What's your point, if you're really seeking the truth?
