Sudden flash floods have killed at least 10 people in southern France, including some trapped in cars and in a retirement home.
A further six are missing, officials confirmed this morning, with the interior ministry saying there is ‘little hope to find them alive’.
The flooding has been concentrated around the towns of Cannes, Biot, Golfe-Juan and Mandelieu-la-Napoule.
French president Francois Hollande said people had been found dead after the flooding last night, and rains had caused serious damage.
Interior ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said the death toll had reached 10, including some victims who had been trapped in a car park and some in a retirement home.
