Well, I had some young puppy installing my new air conditioner suggest I set my thermostat to 73 to 75 degrees "to get the humidity out of the air." I told him at my age I don't move around as much as I did when I was at his age, so at 73-75 degrees, I'd be freezing my tail off.
My former HVAC guy, now retired, told me to keep the thermostat in summer at 78-80 and in winter from 70-73. Following his advice has worked for me.
