Is there any way around McCarthy?

Seriously, when I heard the news that Boehner was resigning I cheered.  And agree that he has some serious physical/mental issues to deal with.

Hope he seeks help immediately.

OH delegation angry McCarthy pushed Boehner out, fight brewing. Price to vie for Majority Leader; Upton and Sessions may too.

You can rest assured, this leadership opening will be contested.

It would be nice if we won for a change.

What do you think Sessions' chances would be?

There will now be a very fascinating - and long overdue - battle for the speakership, and for the direction of the GOP.

 :2popcorn:

Battle for the Speakership would be great. However, beware the RINOGOP throws conservatives a bone  with Bonner resigning just to replace him with someone just like him or WROST, Kevin McCarthy??? A RINO from CA , enough said **nononono*

One thing that did just occur to me:

As it stands now, Boehner does go out of this quite a bit better than his predecessors.

*Tom Foley: lost power in a landslide national election
*Newt Gingrich: resigned amid scandal
*Dennis Hastert: lost power in a landslide national election, forced to resign, later embroiled in scandal
*Nancy Pelosi: lost power in a landslide national election

Of course, the circumstances of Boehner's resignation aren't yet known, so we're not entirely certain of it.

Are you kidding?  The circumstances of Boehner's resignation are that he's sick of the Louie Gohmerts and Rick Meadows and Tim Huelskamps.  He's been in Congress for 25 years, has a nice pension coming, and he likes to play golf.  Plus he'd get a cushy job in a year in some lobbying firm.

Who can blame him?

Not me. This is probably a good time for him to get out.
