They Weren’t Nooses, But Let’s Pretend They Were Because RACISM!

Because everything is about race and racism is everywhere, at the University of Delaware, students and administrators saw nooses hanging from trees when they were just not.
They were just metal frames used to hold paper lanterns, and even after that was discovered, everybody was encouraged to continue their freakout because racism!
First, a campus-wide e-mail was sent out, according to TruthRevolt, stating they were “investigating a racist display found … tonight and is being investigated as a hate crime.”
Because you just gotta piggyback on this, University President Nancy Targett quickly sent everyone a tweet, asking students to “stand together against intolerance!”
She then sent the university community her own e-mail.
Such cowardly and reprehensible acts are clearly designed to intimidate and frighten, and they are unacceptable on our campus. These hateful acts stand in stark contrast to the peaceful protest and discussion held near the same spot just one day earlier.
There you go! Get everybody freaking out!
Finally, it was discovered these were just frames from paper lanterns left over from another event. They weren’t nooses at all. The racist incident was fiction. It never happened. We can all calm down, right?
No! Now we need to “continue the dialogue” (meaning keep freaking out!) about racism.
Oh come on. Do we have to? Geez.
Never miss an opportunity to divide.
