A Confidenti@l source with heavyweight ties to the real-estate business tells us a well-financed 2018 Trump-for-governor movement is already afoot. And according to our insider, who regularly raises cash for Republican candidates, the Donald is well aware of the plan.

“They all think he should run for governor,” says our insider. “(Our) money people, the real-estate people, would support him.”

According to our source, who’s known Trump for decades, some of those supporters pressured the billionaire to pledge this month that he’d support any eventual GOP presidential nominee.

“This is what the Republican machine is talking about,” we’re told. “They want him to consider other options.”

While Trump is financing his own presidential campaign, there’d be no need for him to do that if he runs for governor, we’re told. According to our insider, conventional wisdom is that Trump would be very sympathetic to his fellow developers.

“The heavy real-estate moguls are very political
,” our insider says. “They want him to be governor, and if he did that, he’d take campaign money.”

I wouldn't have any problem voting Trump Gov. or mayor.  It's where he should have started.  Too late now.
