A Miss America contestant slammed Donald Trump during the live Q&A portion of Sunday night’s Miss America competition, saying Republicans should be “absolutely terrified” of the GOP front-runner and rival beauty pageant promoter.

“I think Donald Trump is an entertainer and I think he says what’s on a lot of people’s minds,” Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin told judge Taya Kyle after being asked to explain the real estate mogul’s “overwhelming” lead in the polls.

“But I think that the Republican Party should be absolutely terrified of all of the attention that he’s taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie that could absolutely do the job of President of the United States,” McGuffin continued. "And if I were a Republican I would be absolutely terrified of that.”

It may be no coincidence that a question concerning Trump was asked during the 2016 Miss America competition: The billionaire businessman last week announced a 100% takeover of the Miss Universe Organization, which produces Miss America’s rival pageant, Miss USA.

For her part, McGuffin took home the title of fourth runner-up and the consolation prize of Internet stardom.

Me too. I'm terrified of the idea that anyone could consider Donald Trump a legitimate candidate.  Trump supports only one thing: Donald Trump. 
As a conservative, if the candidate on the ballot is Trump, I sure as hell won't be casting a vote for him.

I'd vote for either the Conservative Party candidate or the Right-to-Life party candidate, which often are the same as the Republican candidate, but in this case I don't believe they will be.

Except for the Christie / Bush alternative, I agree with her 100%. Am glad she is a proud republican though.    What bothers me about this is why has the Miss America contest shifted into politics?  Not just this question, but the question to another contestant if she would agree to the banning of Assault weapons.

No kidding. I can only suggest something that will possibly be called sexist which is that most viewers of that show are female and the questions asked reflect what the viewers want to hear and now I will duck and cover...

Although it's pretty obvious what Trump only supports Trump means, and I assume it's not an explanation you're seeking, I'll bite since the post you're referring to is mine:

It means that Donald Trump is out to benefit only himself in all things.  He's an emotional child who seeks attention and is world-class level at self-aggrandizing behavior. Running for president is only another way to attempt to satisfy his insatiable narcissism.  Plus, he's pro-choice, pro-single payer health care, and has been not only a Democrat, but a liberal one, for most of his life.

He's not a Republican or a conservative; he saw a way to get more attention and adulation and went for it, and people are being buffaloed into believing his BS. It's like watching a modern-day PT Barnum in action.

(And no, I'm not GOP-E.)
