Trump is in the same class as Obama, that is, a man with no class.  You think it's OK to deride Jeb Bush because he speaks Spanish?

Trump couldn't learn to speak Spanish if he had to. And nobody has used the bankruptcy laws in the last 20 years more than Donald Trump.  That's a fact.

So, you disagree that Bush as a candidate for the nomination for President (of the United States) should set an example and speak English, serving as an incentive to learn the language?

Why would Trump need to learn Spanish?  (But if necessary, I've no doubt he could).

Why can't Trump follow the law?

I will vote for Donald Trump in Nov. 2016 if he is the GOP candidate on the ballot.  But I will do so with a very sad heart, knowing full well that the result is a foregone conclusion and that I will not like that result.  Until then I will do what I can to oppose his nomination.  He is a loud-mouthed braggart and the almost ideal counterpart to the low-info voter:  the low-info candidate.

He may not technically be a member of the DNC, but he's still a world-class jack-a$$.

Bush speaks English the vast majority of the time.  But it pisses Trump off when he speaks Spanish once in a while.
Trump is a thin-skinned jerk, exactly like Obama, with some of Obama's views.

But it doesn't bother the Trumpians.

Bush should set an example as a potential leader who can speak to everyone concerned.  And being able to speak to born-and-bred American citizens who grew up in Spanish speaking households (because their parents were legal first-generation immigrants) is a sign of a leader who knows how to appeal with carrots and not with sticks alone.

You wouldn't believe just how much foreigners will do for you if you show that you can speak even a modicum of their language.  And on the political front, not just the negotiation front, it also gins up support from the countries that speak the language.

I just don't believe it does piss Trump off.  I think every single thing about Trump's stuff is a show.  Talk about "fly over country" and Trump "gets it".

You're probably correct.

I wonder how many LIVs and other assorted low lifes turned in for the first debate were it not for Trump?

I wonder how many will do the same thing for the 2nd?

If you plan to take down The Donald, the bolox in this article will only make him stronger.

I agree.   He's like that character in a horror movie that with each victim's soul being taken, he just gets stronger.

Trump couldn't learn to speak Spanish if he had to. And nobody has used the bankruptcy laws in the last 20 years more than Donald Trump.  That's a fact.

Only 4 of Trump Organization's 700+ companies ever declared bankruptcy, and that was over 20 years ago related to Atlantic City's melt down in the mid-1990s when many other casinos, including the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, also closed their doors.

Making 0, the number of times Trump used the bankruptcy laws in the last 20-years.

Twenty four million tuned in to watch the debate this time. In 2011 it was the usual 5 million that watched.

The RNC owes Trump a debt of gratitude for exposing GOP candidates to a huge audience they would never have gotten if Trump were not there.

Ahh... But, isn't that what Trump always does? Make money.

If Trump says all the right things and is real nice to me, this low information voter might be persuaded to cast a ballot and let Donald Trump have a chance at winning for America and do what he said he'll do: help us to stop being chumps and for a change make some money against our international economic competitors and in situations where international conflict results in American sacrifice of blood and treasure.

From wiki on Trump:

Mr. Trump started his business career in an office he shared with his father in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. He worked with his father for five years, where they were busy making deals together. Mr. Trump has been quoted as saying, “"My father was my mentor, and I learned a tremendous amount about every aspect of the construction industry from him.”" Likewise, Fred C. Trump often stated that “"some of my best deals were made by my son, Donald...everything he touches seems to turn to gold."

It's also a sign of national balkanization.

It's also a sign of national balkanization.

Is it?

Was America balkanized when German immigrants refused to learn English... instead settling entire towns where German was the only spoken language?

Was America balkanized when the Chinese came and built our railroads, settling in Chinatowns where they didn't need to learn English?

The German-language towns only started to use English with the start of WWI...  and we can still visit the Chinatowns in New York, LA, and San Francisco.

I find it exceedingly strange that the arguments used today apply to our immigrants of the past... yet the prognostications never came to pass.  What makes today different?

Greater Lost Angeles is home to more Iranians, Vietnamese and Filippinos than anywhere else outside their home countries. Probably other groups, as well.

And of course Hispanics (Latinos, Mexicans, whatever the names used). There STILL remain some of the original "campos" where seasonal/migrant farm workers were housed.

It is the height of ignorant bull and hypocrisy to first house people on reservations, in campos, restrict them (Chinese Exclusion Act) and then to complain that they don't assimilate.

"republican strategist" tells me she is the party vs "conservative strategist".
I understand the JB vs RP vs DT but NOT the party slamming one of their own.
It is obvious to me now that the party is "assured" that Trump will not go 3rd party, the party is out to get him.

Liz Mair was RNC in 2008.  She doesn't represent the Party anymore.  She is an adviser to candidates now.
