A teenager was arrested Thursday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl.
His defense: She was asking for it.
That might be funny if it wasn’t so sad.
Lynell Hall, 16, has been arrested and is facing charges of first degree rape, according to police.
The incident occurred on August 2 at a semi-abandoned apartment complex. Police say that the complex is a popular place for young people to do the horizontal tango.
But maybe not with little girls.
The victim lives in the apartment complex, according to Tulsa Police Sergeant Mike Brown (cool name for an officer, these days). That’s where she met Lynell Hall.
Her cousin had some friends over. Apparently, Lynell was one of them.
According to an affidavit, Lynell admitted to having sexual contact with the girl, but stopped when he said to “get off her.”
Later on, Lynell admitted that he had sex with her and said that she was “asking for it the whole night.”

There is also evidence that a break-in occurred where the incident happened, according to court documents.
Oklahoma state law allows Lynell to be charged as an adult.
We think he’s going to learn a lot more about rape than he wants to know in the not-so-distant future.
