DEVELOPING: An explosion has been reported at the U.S. military facility in Sagamihara, Japan, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports, citing the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation.

Sagamihara is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Kanagawa, which borders Tokyo.

"Fire from the American military base has occurred," the Sagamihara Fire Department said, according to JBC.

The Sagami General Depot houses storage for petroleum products and ammunition.

Video and photos began streaming in from social media shortly after noon (EST), showing a large explosion, several loud booms, sustained flames and billowing smoke rising from a structure. No injuries have been reported.

Several huge explosions were heard today at a US army base in Japan.

At least 10 fire engines rushed to the scene in Sagamihara city, south of Tokyo, amid reports of a blast sparked by an unknown cause.

Footage shows several small bangs and one huge explosion, which witnesses described on social media as like "a fireworks display."

Lotta explosions in east asia.

I'm thinking that North Korea has activated their spy network to plant explosives.  Retaliation for the artillery exchange on the DMZ.  Lil Kimmie can't escalate on the border without a major risk of full-scale war... but planted explosives?  Who knows?

(NK has a history of this sort of thing.  I mean, who sunk the Choenan?  An old mine? A torpedo? An accident in the ship's magazine?  Sure, SK found torpedo remains... but they're just 'fakes', doncha know.)
