Giuseppe and Aurora Bellandi of Rimini, Italy, were surprised to learn that Aurora, in her forties, was pregnant. And because she had ovarian fibroma, she was told to abort the child.
It wasn’t until later that Aurora discovered the abortion had failed. She was still pregnant and was told that it was too late to attempt another abortion.
Elisa was born and loved by her parents. Because of the complications surrounding both the pregnancy and the delivery, the Bellandis sued over claims of “physical harm to the mother” and were awarded €120,000 (around $133,000).
Now, with Giuseppe five years unemployed and Aurora diagnosed with Parkinson’s, the Bellandis are once again suing, this time for €1m (approximately $1,100,000), writes Metro.
