Here's the latest on Vice President Biden's consideration of a 2016 presidential bid, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal:

From his vacation spot on Kiawah Island, Mr. Biden is giving the strongest signal yet that he is actively considering making a third run at the presidency. He is asking political allies for advice and gauging the strength of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign as he weighs his options, people familiar with the matter said. Mr. Biden is expected to announce his decision next month.

The focus of Biden's will he/won't he dance is, naturally, Hillary Clinton, the Democratic front-runner.  We ask: "How would a Biden bid affect her?" "Is there enough room in the establishment space for both of them?"

Those are fine questions. But, they miss the most important point, which is: A Biden candidacy -- assuming the vice president ran a credible effort with some decent percentage of support in early states -- would be the best possible thing for Sen. Bernie Sanders's chances of actually winning the nomination.

Biteme will run. This will be his last hurrah win or lose. He just wants his butt kissed a little since he has been doing that for the last 40+ years. Barry will back him instead of Clinton because he wants control of the DEM party and does not want to be upped ONE by the first WOMAN President,  IMO. Some think to look for a Biteme and Warren ticket??? Who knows BUT it will be interesting to see Uncle Joe in the debates???

Just like 2008: a mirage.

Nobody actually wants Hillary to run for President outside the media. Her early success was on name recognition alone.

The recent poll that showed Sanders ahead of Clinton in New Hampshire also showed Biden with 9%, even though he's not a declared candidate.

I sense that if Biden jumped into the race within the next few weeks, that he would immediately siphon off about 1/3 or more of Hillary's support.

He'd probably rise to 25% within a couple of days of his announcement.

And just about all of that would come from o'er-the-Hillary.

I wonder if Biden will call tin Lizzie and ask if she'd consider being his Veep pick? And campaigning with him as such.

That would take some wind out of Bernie's sails...
