And just where is he getting stronger here?    Not that many days ago I was thinking they are going to have to rename this forum the TrumpetRoom. I seemed to be in a tiny minority of what one person labeled as "Trump Haters", and even calling us RINOs. The tide has very noticeably shifted - and it will even more as the debates continue.

He's getting stronger in his poll numbers among Republicans.

Nearly every discussion on this board is about Trump. Even though most of our members despise him waiting for the shoe to drop. And he just keeps getting stronger. Very curious, indeed.

And one little side not here that doesn't have anything to do with any particular candidate but is true never-the less.

For enough money you can get a poll that says anything you want it to say!

Not so sure about the "soon".  Never overestimate the intelligence of the US voter.

I certainly won't underestimate their stupidity, either.

"Trump supporters will be the reason Hilary wins this election. The Clintons are measuring the curtains "

In spite of his current standing, I don't expect him to wind up being the nominee. He draws from the SAME folks that declare they will only vote for somebody MORE conservative than recent nominees.

So if they are good to their words, Trump fails to win the nomination, they sit out another. And your premise will turn out to be true, for an alternative reason.

32 % ????      Talk about Delusinal????????????

It was the part about "God and apple pie" that was delusional.

If you think egotism, arrogance, crudity, lewdness, meanness, and an uncontrolled temper have even the slightest connection with God, you are delusional.

The 32% reveals gross stupidity on the part of a segment of the Republican primary voters............. or perhaps a symptom of some raging fever.

If the Good LORD wills, the fever will break long before the votes are cast, and we won't be saddled with a loud-mouthed jerk in the WH.

It's ignorance, not stupidity. I think the distinction is important.

Point well taken, but I think at least it is a mixture of both.

The Trump phenomenon is based on voter anger, so many are not completely ignorant of what's going on........ though some are...........but choosing to ride the wave of a non-conservative loud-mouth is a good part stupidity as well.

Not once has Donald Trump given an uplifting statement about the potential of the American individual....like Reagan did ALL THE TIME!

It's always in generalities.

THAT bothers me.  It's time to hear specifics.

The problem is that he gets into deep trouble when he gets specific.

Like when he said he thought the Canadian single-payer health care system was working well...... oy!

He's only going to be able to ride the wave by being emotional and not intelligent.

Specifics require intelligent, well-thought-out plans, and as soon as he reveals what he REALLY believes in, he's going to lose most of the support he now has.

My favorite is Cruz but I will wait till the republicans have a candidate before I even think about supporting anyone or any third party. I kinda like what is happening with Trump I think it is letting the gop leadership know how many of are disgusted with their do nothing Obama kissing party. I truly believe they are whats wrong with the United States. They are weak kneed, lobbyist sucking money grubbing ass holes that allow the democrats and socialists to succeed.

My problem with Cruz is very superficial...he just does not  impress me as a strong candidate and wait...wait..I'm sorry to say he has weird eyebrows and greasy hair.  It's no use trying to clobber me because as soon as I  push the return button I will refuse to defend what I've said.
So there.

Good grief.  Believe it or not there have been studies as to how "hair" affects the votes.  So with Trump it could go either way ... either people won't vote for him because of his hair or people will vote for him because of his ridiculous comb over.  With his money, I wonder why he's never gotten implants or a toupee?

You know, in some ways I'm superficial and petty with the guy also.  His brain power is off the charts and he's a strong Constitutionalist.  But... he has that nasally voice and he appears to be a cartoonist's dream.

So now bk, let's get a beer and not defend ourselves together.

With Cruz now in the #2 spot, it will be interesting to see how he and Trump now interact and will the moderators now give Cruz more time or will they continue to try to ignore him as was done in the last debate?

I would have joined you in a superficial criticism of Cruz last week.  For months I have commented to my wife on the cheap suits Cruz has worn for the last 2 years.  Every time I saw him he had a jacket that was 2 sizes too big, but the night of the debate Cruz was wearing a suit that fit his body pretty well.  I'm not sure it was tailored, but it wasn't goofy looking.

The thing is the guy is a lawyer.  He's got the money to get a nice suit, but up until the debate he evidently never needed a good looking suit.  I just think that is kind of weird.

His "looks" further separates him from the RINO's and Washington Cartel.  So far it's working for him.

Pat Gray said it on Glenn Beck............... he sounds like Dana Carvey imitating George H.W. Bush on SNL.

I LOVE The guy, but I laugh every time I hear his voice.  I will however, get over it because he's brilliant and a strong candidate, and if he gets the nomination, I'll put Dana out of my mind.  ^-^

It seems to me that Trump is the more liberal of Trump, McConnell, McCain, and Boehner or at least that has been what he has always shown to be his political leanings.  Why are you such a sucker for him?  What's the point of electing another liberal Republican?
