The name of a new Navy ship will honor vets who are also members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.
Sixty-four men in the Hall of Fame served in conflicts spanning from the Civil War through the Korean War, said a U.S. Department of Defense news release. When finished, the littoral combat ship Cooperstown will be 388 feet long and capable of traveling at speeds in excess of 40 knots (46 mph).
