Hillary Clinton Forgets That She’s Not the Only Woman Running for President

By Hannah Leitner on 7.29.15 | 2:16PM

Hillary Clinton claims to be the sole champion of women, advocating for feminist beliefs and rights against all those other sexist candidates. And in her mind, she is.

According to RedAlert Politics, Clinton referred to the GOP candidates as ‘those guys’ during a speech on Sunday, clearly forgetting about Republican candidate Carly Fiorina.

Most media outlets overlooked the slip-up. Instead, they chose to focus on Clinton’s plan to combat climate change — one that will be using our tax money as funding, by the way. Despite the lack of mainstream media coverage, ABC’s digital journalist Liz Kreutz was quick to pick up on the blunder and tweeted:

There may only be ‘one woman’ on the GOP side, but there’s also only one woman on the Democratic side as well. To break down Hillary’s argument, I compiled and compared the declared GOP candidates’ age, gender, and sex to those declared Democrat candidates:

Age

The oldest GOP candidate is Donald Trump, at 69. He is the oldest of the Republicans by four years, followed by Rick Perry at 65. The oldest Democrat candidate is Bernie Sanders, at 73. He is the oldest of the Democrats by four years, as well. Sanders is followed by Jim Webb, who is 69, the same age as the oldest GOP candidate.

Hillary is 67 and Carly Fiorina is 60.

Ethnicity

Of all the candidates running in the GOP candidates Ben Carson is African-American, and Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio both are Cuban-American. The Democrats only boast white candidates.

Gender

And last but not least, EACH SIDE has a woman candidate.

Unfortunately for Clinton, her attempt to point out the GOP as a bunch of old, crusty sexists men backfired. It turns out that the party that is “all guys, btw” has more diversity, in both ethnicity and gender, than the Democrats. Not to mention a younger pool of candidates.

Sorry Hillary, as it turns out you aren’t the only contender in the 2016 election that can use the phrase ‘sisters before misters’. There’s another woman — and she’s younger.

Hillary tends to forget a lot of things when it works in her favor.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
