Global Warming is Blamed for Everything

15  18 years after it stopped!

At the rate of one degree per century, global warming can barely be measured, to say nothing of being noticed, especially since temperatures in your neighborhood go up and down 50 or 60 degrees every six months, and about 20 degrees every 12 hours.  One degree per century is inconsequential, and certainly not enough to cause all the things that are blamed on global warming.

What's really amusing is that global cooling is blamed on global warming.  This says a lot about the quality of the public schools, in my opinion.  Fifty years ago such an accusation would have been laughed into oblivion instantly, because ordinary people learned (in school) how to think for themselves.

EPA Chief: Climate Change Is Fact Because Bad Weather Leads the News.  EPA administrator Gina McCarthy said there is no need to continue debating the science behind climate change.  "I can remember a day when the weather report was in the middle of the domestic and international news and took about a minute and a half.  It wasn't the news.  When you go on the news today the first thing you'll hear about is the weather.  So there is a dramatic difference in the way people perceive the ability of the climate to impact their lives because they're feeling it today," McCarthy said during an event sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.

The weather is the lead story on the local news because it's cheap and easy to have someone state the obvious.  It is sometimes the first event in a newscast because the rest of the show isn't ready yet.  Weather is usually not an issue, and the coverage of routine conditions (which anyone with two eyes and a window can see for himself) is filler.  Weather announcers routinely tell their audiences how to avoid the effects of hot weather or cold weather or heavy rain, not because the weather is any more severe these days, but because they think the viewers are too stupid to figure it out.  So the presence of abundant weather coverage on TV is not because the weather is bad, it's because the state of journalism is bad.

Martin O'Malley: ISIS Exists Because of Climate Change.  Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley said on Bloomberg's With All Due Respect that ISIS came about because of the effects of climate change.  "One of the things that preceded the failure of the nation-state of Syria and the rise of ISIS, was the effects of climate change and the mega-drought that effected that region," he said, noting how it "wiped out farmers, drove people to cities, [and] created a humanitarian crisis."  "It created the symptoms, or rather the conditions of extreme poverty that has led now to the rise of ISIL and this extreme violence," O'Malley concluded.

Climate change threat must be taken as seriously as nuclear war — UK minister.  The report, commissioned by the Foreign Office, and written by experts from the UK, US, China and India, is stark in its assessment of the wide-ranging dangers posed by unchecked global warming, including:  very large risks to global food security, including a tripling of food prices[,] unprecedented migration overwhelming international assistance[,] increased risk of terrorism as states fail[,] lethal heat even for people resting in shade[.]

Addressing their claims in reverse order:  The summer heat is already lethal in some places, for some people.  If you attend a public school, that's called "natural selection."  (The answer to hot weather is air conditioning, or at least electric fans, for which you need plenty of coal-fired power plants.)  Terrorists aren't waiting for a reason to terrorize.  Migration (into the U.S.) is already happening in unprecedented numbers.  And as we all know, food prices only go in one direction, and that is up.  All these things are happening already, even though there has been no global warming for almost 20 years.

Interesting Reparations for Global Warming.  If you thought global warming scaremongering tactics went away with the most recent failed prediction for 2015 when we were supposed to be flooded and underwater, with little polar ice caps left, you would be mistaken.  Writing for the Washington Post, Michael B. Gerrard, a legal scholar at Columbia University's Earth Institute, proposes that we should take in millions upon millions of refugees that will eventually be displaced by climate change.  He said, "We ruined your country.  Welcome to ours."

The only people who are likely to buy this outburst of America-hating rhetoric are those who already favor open borders, those who use global warming panic to expand Big Government (or unified world government), and those who don't have the ability to deconstruct an outlandish and implausible idea and see it as folly.  The "legal scholar" mentioned above is taking a sidetrack that I haven't heard of before:  He blames global warming on the United States per se, not just the industrial revolution or the widespread use of hydrocarbons as fuel.  Ask yourself this question:  Which country, anywhere in the world, has been "ruined" by global warming?  Name one.  But before you answer, bear in mind that global warming stopped almost 20 years ago, and even before it stopped, it was extremely gradual.

National Geographic: Yeah, Climate Change Part Of Reason For NC Shark Attacks.  The Cult of Climastrology must always find a way to bring their pet political cause into almost any event.

The White House Wants Your Doctor To Teach You About Global Warming.  The Obama administration has been hard at work trying to draw a link between global warming and public health issues.  The summit included the U.S. Surgeon General, top administration officials, and public health experts from around the country telling doctors, nurses and other conference goers how to talk about global warming with their patients.  The central message:  doctors should warn their patients that global warming could make their health worse.

This has never been true before, and it's not true now.
White House, EPA say climate change a dire threat to economy, human health.  Failure to act on climate change could cause an estimated 57,000 deaths a year in the United States from poor air quality by 2100, the Obama administration argued in a report released Monday [6/22/2015] that warns of dire effects of global warming.

Global warming will shrink loaves of bread.  Yes, loaves of bread are under assault from global warming, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.  Loaves will be smaller because of increased carbon dioxide in the air.

Anyone who is familiar with the chemistry involved in baking bread can see through this immediately.  In the first place, one degree of global warming is immaterial, since bread is prepared indoors and dough is allowed to rise in a warm place.  In the second place, the carbon dioxide content of the ambient air — besides being demonstrably independent of warming — is immaterial because yeast produces its own carbon dioxide during fermentation, which is what makes bread dough rise.  The original article (below) describes a very dubious demonstration of the purported effects of high CO2 concentrations on wheat, or rather the bread which was made from the flour which was made from the wheat in the (apparently outdoor) test area.  Apparently one crop of wheat resulted in one loaf of shrunken bread.  An experiment with a sample size of one does not prove anything.
