Elections have consequences.

Vote GOP people, anything else and we'll be having this exact same conversation for the next 9 years.

Yes and despite all this outrage displayed around here the people voted for Obama twice.  Maybe Trump can wake people up but it doesn't look like it to me when you poll the whole electorate about Trump vs. Hillary.  Looks to me like Hillary would clobber him.  Until those numbers change (oer something similar) I wouldn't assume radical moves in congress would get a great deal of support.

Sixty percent of the people say that they will not vote for Trump.

Shut down the government.

That worked out so well the last time.

It worked out one hell of a lot better the some propagandists would have you believe! Republicans won BIG twice after that happened!

Absolutely correct.  For ten years the people have wanted comprehensive immigration reform, yet the Republicans continue to hinder it, bowing to a small group on the right who don't care what the people want.  Thus we are where we are and the left is in charge of immigration.

Does Josh work for you or you for him?

Either way you are both singing off the same sheet of music!

Yeah, we are so much better off today since the far right wing ensured we couldn't put any effort into better border security, stronger employer sanctions and substantial improvements in the immigration laws.  Great job!  Another ten years and we'll really be in good shape. But as you say, the GOP is responsible for all this...

Everyone on this thread needs to chill out a tad. Perhaps a good laugh is in order. This ought do the trick:

The difference is that those here who don't see Trump as the great savior of the Party would to a person vote for him should he be the nominee.  OTOH, some (at least) here who see him as the Second Coming are on record as sworn to never vote for any so-called RINO...

Very interesting comment Mac....and the RINO comment sticks out....I can only speak for myself as a conservative...I like most of what he is saying[sans McCain comments] and I am looking forward to what he says at the border tomorrow...as far as voting for him..I will if he is the nominee but I will have a hard time in the primaries...I still , as of now, like Walker and  Carly

So the GOP should just lie down and give the bastard anything he wants because we don't have "a veto proof majority"?

I would get around that by using the tools we were given in the Constitution such as the power of the purse! Obama can't legally spend one red cent that the CONGRESS has not appropriated!

I like Walker too.  Carly is worth considering, but i'm sure she's in it for a VP pick.  I would like to like Perry too, but I'm not yet over cringing a little when he opens his mouth.

I'll listen to Trump especially at the border, and definitely will watch the upcoming debate.  I just can't get over his political history and the support he's provided the opposition.  For the Primary, out of 16, for me he's no. 16...at this point.

What Trump is saying is that there is a problem.

Lots of people are turned on by the fact that he's saying what they've been saying for years, and that's why all the support him.

He's not saying how that problem will be solved any more than anyone else is. He's gaining political power and a following by pointing out the problem and keeping the problem at the forefront of people's minds.

Pointing to the problem, saying "see, there is a problem" then blaming others that most people already don't like for the fact that the problem exists isn't leadership.

That's problem profiteering.

That's just Trump being Al Sharpton.

Trump's not annoying me.

He's just the clown car act between the real circus headliners.

What annoys me is all the allegedly rational people who fail to see that Trump is Hillary's easiest ticket to a third Clinton inaugural party.

People need to get their heads out of their asses and figure that one out.

Think I posted that 'theory' even before you did, Luis.  He's definitely capable of being a Trojan horse, but right now, he thinks he can WIN.

Trump is a moderate Democrat in the Scoop Jackson vein.  Which...in the end, I could live with....if he were to win.

I've been self-employed virtually my entire life, beginning with a newspaper route which I delivered while wearing my baseball uniform...stirrups and all.  So, I'm free-market capitalist through and through.  And that's what this country needs desperately.

And if at the same time, they drive a stake through the heart of Obamacare, the TRILLIONS of dollars sitting in corporate and small business vaults will be invested in creating more jobs, etc..

Right now, it's too early for anybody to get nasty over this.   I'd suggest some Orville Reddenbacher in a large bowl

Not true! And you know it!

Well my friend, these are your exact words:

Republicans Insist They're Tackling 'The People's Priorities,' But Illegal Immigration Is Not on the List

And you're absolutely correct.  Republicans have turned away from what the people want on immigration time and time again.  Just because Josh Earnest agrees with you doesn't make him wrong.  Once in a while I agree with you too.  :coffee:

Orville Reddenbacher works for me.   :pop41:
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

They are the EXACT words of the headline of the article I linked to. Not mine! And nowhere does that article say that the Republicans are responsible for the current state of affairs.  Only you and Josh Earnest are selling that line!

Trump is a lot of things. Stupid isn't one of them.

He sees his negative poll numbers and that 60% of Americans will not vote for him under any circumstance.

He sees that he polls the worst out of any GOP candidate against the presumed Democratic candidate.

Trump didn't get rich by risking resources on long-shot deals.

Trump is not in this to win.

He's in this to advance the Trump brand.
