UK Muslim who distributed guide to bombing soccer stadiums gets 3 years

The utmost deference and respect will be given to the faith that incited him to try to help his coreligionists commit mass murder. Then after three years, or sooner, he will be free again, and able to continue his jihad — with absolutely nothing having been done while he was in prison to dissuade him from doing so.

A Muslim IT expert who made extremist videos in his Manchester bedroom has been jailed for nearly three years for distributing radical material.
Muhammad Aftab Suleman, 25, born in Pakistan, added English translations to videos glorifying terrorism and publishing them on YouTube.
He was arrested at Manchester airport as he attempted to flee to Pakistan, the day after police found a stash of extremist material at his home in Crumpsall in December 2014.
Suleman was in possession of four issues of the al-Qaeda magazine Inspire, one of which included a list of potential targets in Britain, including football stadiums, tennis matches, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Epsom Derby and the Savoy Hotel.
Police also discovered a separate document called ’10 methods to detect or foil the plots of spies’ and a pen drive containing 435 extremist documents.
He also posted links to his English version of a song called ‘Flames of War’ and a copy of Inspire issue 12 on an internet forum used by extremists.
Both pieces were written in response to a December 2014 massacre at a military school in Peshawar, in Pakistan, and claimed to justify the killing of innocent children.
He claimed that the 132 children who died at the school were killed in the ‘crossfire’.
Suleman was also alleged to be a member of the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the same group that tried to kill schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai, but the charges were dropped.
When sentencing him to 33 months in jail, Judge Charles Wide QC said: ‘Electronic communication is one of the primary weapons of the terrorist.
‘It is plain to me you have deep sympathy with the aims and methods of those rightly regarded as terrorists.
‘You have plainly a particular interest in the proscribed organisation Tehreek-e-Taliban. You plainly had an interest in Syria and the conflict there.
‘You used your skill in relation to information in technology and in particular your skill so far as the installation and operation of software so far as the Youtube uploading.
‘You tried to flee but in fact you were intercepted because of your late flight.’
Suleman, who has dual Pakistani-British nationality, spent five years at school in Islamabad, before arriving in the UK to study for a BTec in IT.
When police raided the family home in Manchester, they found a laptop containing Tor software, which allowed Suleman access to the ‘dark web’.
While living in Britain in January 2012, Suleman posted a video called ‘I love you my Bro’ in which a voice sang in English: ‘To my beautiful brothers who are on the path of jihad, may we be alongside you one day.’
Suleman, who used the online name MrShineyBoi, filmed the family home in Manchester for the title ‘Open your Eye’s (sic) Wake up O Muslims’ in November 2012.
The video, which was viewed 3,515 times, cut from the suburban scene to images of dead children and scenes of devastation from Syria.
In comments attached to the video, Suleman wrote: ‘The jihad in Syria is legitimate and every one of use should help where we can.’
Suleman had travelled to Syria with a charity called World Aid Convoy in August 2013.
Before leaving, he was approached by police and warned that he could face radicalisation….
He was probably laughing up his sleeve at the foolhardiness and naivete of this “warning.”
