Gangbanger Gets 10 Years For Triple Murder Made Possible By San Francisco’s Sanctuary Policy

Wilfredo “Flaco” Reyes is a gang leader who killed three innocent people. Some would call him a monster for what he did. The State of California however thinks he’s a low-level offender and just sentenced him to 10 years in prison for taking three lives. Believe it or not, this is related to San Francisco’s sanctuary city policy because it helped facilitate the triple homicide.

On June 22, 2008 some MS-13 gangbangers were looking for a retaliatory hit to avenge a couple of their homies that were shot earlier in the day. Wilfredo Reyes and Edwin Ramos were driving around San Francisco when they spotted a car that they though was full of rivals. They opened fire, killing three of the four occupants of the vehicle.

Unfortunately, they didn’t kill rival gangbangers; they murdered a father a two of his sons. Tony Bologna 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, were killed in the attack. Andrew, a third son, survived the attack.

Police and prosecutors think that Reyes was driving and that Ramos was the triggerman. It shouldn’t matter. They were a couple of gang members that went looking for a hit and killed three people. They should both be equally guilty of murder, right? Not in California. While Ramos was convicted on three counts of murder and sentenced to three life terms, Reyes got special treatment.

From SF Gate:

Reyes pleaded guilty to participating in a criminal street gang and discharging a gun at an occupied vehicle in exchange for the 10-year sentence, which includes two strikes under the state’s “three strikes” law.

Wait, Reyes pled guilty to firing the gun, but he’s not responsible for what the bullets did after they left the barrel? The prosecutor that brokered this plea deal should be disbarred.

The story gets worse because Ramos is an illegal alien and San Francisco’s sanctuary city policy kept him from being deported at least twice before he killed the Bolognas.

The case drew controversy when it was revealed that Ramos had, before the killings, been shielded from deportation twice after he committed gang-related crimes as a minor by city juvenile justice officials relying on San Francisco’s sanctuary city law.

I wonder how many innocent Americans have to be murdered by illegal aliens before San Francisco rethinks it’s policy of not cooperating with federal immigration officials.

Danielle Bolgna, wife and mother of the victims, issued a statement after the sentencing:

“Violent criminals, convicted felons and gang members illegally in the United States should not be shielded by any law enforcement agency. I am begging community leaders to put public safety first so another preventable tragedy for another family is avoided.”

And then there is this:

Danielle Bologna has long said that the shooting that killed her husband and sons was preventable, and sued the city in 2009 for shielding Ramos. A judge threw out the suit.

San Francisco is absolutely responsible for this triple murder, just like they are to blame for the death of a woman last week who was killed by an illegal alien they refused to hand over to the feds. The State of California only made this tragedy worse by giving Reyes a 10-year slap on the wrist. I’ll be shocked if he serves even 7 years and then it’s back out on the street.
