North Korea Unveils New Airport, Executes Architect
North Korea is getting lots of things done.

Liberals often wish we had the same infrastructure expansion as Communist China. The Commies are of course famous for getting things done, even if the things are broken, don't work and aren't actually useful. The USSR got a lot of things done that didn't need doing. The end result were actual environmental catastrophes that liberals don't like talking about.
Meanwhile here their infrastructure projects are unworkable and can't get done because of their own senseless environmental reviews in which you have to spend years and millions of dollars on consultants just to repair a bridge.
Meanwhile North Korea is getting lots of things done. Like a gleaming new airport that hardly anyone will actually use.
North Korea's propaganda machine has spent days promoting a new airport in Pyongyang, showcasing the building's sleek glass walls and espresso stations. But the images, which feature Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, fail to mention that the building's principal designer was likely executed last year because Kim was unhappy with the design.
Well that's a minor issue. Stalin executed lots of architects. Never stopped liberals from admiring how he got things done. And North Korea probably killed fewer people building this airport than the average Stalinist construction project.
The state-run Korean Central News Agency published a 30-photo slide show Thursday of Kim Jong Un and his wife touring a two story international terminal in Pyongyang's airport. It's the latest appeal to potential tourists since Kim ascended to power in North Korea three years ago, featuring a jewelry store, coffee bar, a pharmacy, a chocolate fountain and other luxury amenities.
That's in a country where people are starving to death.
But this is where Socialism ends up, with an elite ruling class, a mass of terrified peasants and desperate attempts to attract wealthy tourists with luxuries. Compare North Korea to South Korea. And remember that if the left wins completely here, this is what we'll eventually end up looking like.
