Ahlulbayt News Agency - A large explosion on Monday morning in eastern Cairo left Egyptian Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat Baltfjar injured.
Egyptian media earlier reported an explosion in the Heliopolis region of Cairo and that it was targeted against Baltfjar’s motorcade in an assassination attempt.
A senior police officer told AFP that top prosecutor Hisham Barakat and his bodyguards had been taken to hospital. Barakat was said to be "in good condition," the officer added.
