Quote
People who manufacture weapons or invest in weapons industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christian, Pope Francis said on Sunday. Francis issued his toughest condemnation to date of the weapons industry at a rally of thousands of young people at the end of the first day of his trip to the Italian city of Turin. "If you trust only men you have lost," he told the young people in a long, rambling talk about war, trust and politics after putting aside his prepared address. "It makes me think of ... people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn't it?" he said to applause. He also criticised those who invest in weapons industries, saying "duplicity is the currency of today ... they say one thing and do another."

The Pope then went on to say that the railroads in Germany and Poland should have been "bombed" to stop the death camps.

Gee Francis, who exactly would you expect to make those bombs?

This Pope is a liberal, which means he's mentally ill, which means he makes dumb statements that are easily mocked.
Trump has created a cult and looks more and more like Hitler every day.

Not to mention that bombing German railroads likely would have killed a lot of people,  including civilians.

This pope is becoming more and more of a disappointment.  Anyone for an anti-pope?

Doesn't anybody else find it peculiar that a healthy pope 'retires' and is replaced by this socialist moron....at the same time the USA elects a f**cking Marxist Socialist anarchist as President and leader of the free world?

And how come in this age of internet, where a cow farts in a pool of water and it's broadcast all over the world, that we haven't heard squat from the Pope that stepped down for this character?

If I didn't know any better, I'd think that aliens came down and are ordering this under threat of famine and death.   But, to what end?

Don't laugh or pooh-pooh it....this Pope recently said that he would Baptize extra terrestrial intelligent beings.

At the global-level, you get what the globalists want you to have.

Buy one, Francis? From whom?

Then, too, the man Jesus praised for having the greatest faith He ever witnessed was a soldier, a centurion (Matt 8:5-13); and the first non-Jew (gentile) we have record of to be accepted into the faith, and by direct order from heaven, was also a soldier (Acts 10). Perhaps the same man as in Matthew, perhaps not, but nowhere is it stated either soldier was to surrender his weapons and quit his profession.

I'm really not a Christian but Matt 8:5-13 is quite possibly the most powerful example of faith in action in the Bible.  It moves me.  I would like to read the actual verses in the actual language.  It has a very "Greek/Hellenistic" mentality to it.
Why?  Well, because I'm a bastard, that's why.

The Pope, Who Has Armed Bodyguards, Has A Problem With Christians Who Manufacture Weapons

Brian Carey
June 22, 2015

Apparently, he wants his bodyguards to buy their weapons from atheists.

Pope Francis spoke on Sunday and said that people who manufacture weapons create some level of “distrust” if they call themselves Christians.

Yeah, we don’t get it, either.

He spoke at a rally attended by thousands of young people. He was ending the first day of his trip to Turin.

“If you trust only men you have lost,” he said.

Okay, we don’t have a problem with that.

Then, he said this: “It makes me think of… people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn’t it?”

The crowd applauded at that line, but we don’t know why.

The Pope has armed bodyguards. Clearly, he recognizes a use for weapons within the context of Christianity. Why doesn’t he extend that same recognition to the manufacturing of weapons?

Finally, the Pope also criticized people who invest in the weapons industries, saying that “duplicity is the currency of today… they say one thing and do another.”

That makes even less sense.

Does the pope realize that most weapons are manufactured by corporations, whose stock, in turn, is often held in large part by mutual funds?

I'm pretty sure those entities do not have souls that need to be saved from Hell.

Glenn Beck wondered whether all those who guard the Vatican and the Pope now will give up all of those evil non-Christian weapons.

Retired Pope Benedict celebrates 88th birthday
April, 2015

The former pope Benedict XVI celebrated his 88th birthday on Thursday with a party at his old summer residence and a beer.

Photos released by the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano showed the German ex-pontiff toasting a group of Bavarians in the gardens of the papal residence at Castel Gandolfo, accompanied by his older brother, Monsignor Georg Ratzinger.

Pope Francis celebrated mass in Benedict’s honour on Thursday morning, saying he hopes God “supports him and gives him much joy and happiness”.

The photos were the first proof that Benedict has used the summer residence since he spent several months there following his February 2013 resignation. He subsequently moved into a converted monastery in the Vatican gardens.

Francis has declined to use the estate, located in the hills south of Rome, preferring to stay in the Vatican even during the hot summer months.

On the eve of the birthday celebrations, Benedict’s secretary, Monsignor Georg Gänswein, told Mediaset television: “The emeritus pope thinks about death and is preparing for his death. It’s a Christian art, because preparing for one’s death means preparing to meet God.”

Ratzinger became the first pope in 600 years to step down, saying he didn’t have the strength of body or spirit to carry on.

Benedict spends his time reading and keeping up with his correspondence, receiving guests and occasionally playing the piano.

As I read and posted that, thought about the similarity between Pope Benedict and George W. Bush.

We haven't heard a word from George W. Bush since he 'retired'....even the MSM paints a picture of doom, that our country is racing toward Socialism...while our nation is being led by anti-American, anti-white racist bigots.

As a Catholic, I wasn't sad to see Benedict XVI go. He was in the process of retrenching on the Liturgy, hailing the Latin Mass, and collaring theologians for their views.

Francis is definitely influenced by socialism and is clearly hoodwinked by the climate changers, but, on theology and outreach, Francis is exactly who the Church needs right now.

Since it's coming from you, Sink, I should give him a 2nd and maybe a 3rd look.   :patriot:

RE: his POV on climate change...I think he "hoodwinked" their movement when after stating his public view on the subject, he took the opportunity to give them an uppercut by chastising them on abortion and the killing of innocents.

I was taught by Jesuits...and Franciscans.  As a younger man, I didn't 'see' Jesuits as Socialists, but rather as their belief in LENDING a hand up for the less fortunate.

Today, it seems to mean taking care of them cradle to grave.

IMO, a Pope should not venture into politics...per se, in the manner this Pope is doing.
