 Fox News | Jun 15, 2015

DEVELOPING: At least two people have reportedly been injured after shots were fired at the front gate of the Little Rock Air Force Base.

"Base security personnel are responding to an incident at the base gate. All base gates are currently closed to traffic," the facility said on its Twitter account.

The base said two people were transported to a local hospital, although the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear. The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. local time.

The Jacksonville Police Department told Fox 16 that they believe the individuals tried to gain access to the base and were shot.

At least one of the injured is not a member of the military, a sergeant at the base told THV11.

The base is advising personnel and visitors to stay away from its main gate.
