CNN Anchor Calls Dallas Police Shooter ‘Courageous And Brave’

She might want this one back.

In case you missed the news, a gunman opened fire on the Dallas Police Department headquarters on Friday night. He was in a standoff with police for hours before a sniper took care of him.

CNN reported about this incident, just like other news networks. Unlike other news networks, however, one CNN anchor used a couple of adjectives to describe the shooter that are typically reserved for heroes.

She said that the shooter was “courageous” and “brave.”

That’s dumb.

CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield was speaking with legal analyst Philip Holloway about the incident. That’s when she said this: “It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff. So you believe these are the hallmarks of more than one person’s involvement.”

Yeah. No.

We know what she meant. Technically it does take courage to attack a police department as a solo player. However, that’s not typically a word we use to describe a bad guy.

And this dude was a bad guy.

We haven’t heard about any apologies or clarifications yet, but we’re fairly certain that one is on its way.

Check out the video above.
