Wichita State Student Dies Preventing ISIS Suicide Bomber from Killing Hundreds

By Rachel Mullen |  0 views

Wichita State University student Abduljaleel Alarbash went to Saudi Arabia to get married before returning to campus in the fall to complete his studies. Alarbash, his brother, and cousin were volunteering as security guards at a mosque when an ISIS suicide bomber tried to enter the Shiite mosque. ISIS considers Shiites to be apostates and therefore are seen as targets.

The trio prevented the terrorist from entering the mosque but it cost them their lives as the suicide bomber detonated his bomb outside instead. They lost their lives but saved hundreds who were inside the mosque. This is the second such attack claimed by the Islamic State terrorists.

Alarbash is being hailed as a hero for saving countless lives by preventing the bomber from entering the mosque. The electrical engineering student was 22 years old.

“Abduljalil saved hundreds of lives … including my father and some of my friends,” said Mohammad Aljady, a fellow Wichita State student. “We believe what he did made him a hero, and the world will never forget heroes.”
