And others. There are reports of massive planets, sort of off the grid. They are way out there. But they still orbit our sun.

Pluto is no longer classified as a planet. Our solar system has 8 official planets.

Nine planets not eight. If we can see it, record it, document it, then it is a planet.

What if Earth was one third its size, and we were all one third our size, would that mean that Earth is not a planet?

Are we going by some silly measurement to determine what is what?

My friend. Our own perception of space and time are unresolved.

How do we know how 'big' we are? we could be a microbe living on a rock which is currently spinning around some big solar explosion.

we are just bugs, nothing more than that.

There is no such thing as a unit of measure.

Are we small? or are we giants?

Nobody knows.

On this matter, rigid, formalistic classification rules must yield to reasonable traditional classification.  A robust formalistic classification system is capable of containing exceptions without losing its conceptual clarity or usefulness.  Pluto is a planet for the simple reason that ever since its discovery it has been treated/classified as such.
