No bloody way. That had a big enough majority for Labour that it was counted as a safe seat.  :thud:

This is exciting!  Thanks EC - but, when are you getting any sleep?

UK elections 2015. I have finally made my decisionand I am stunned at my choice.

I am going to vote Conservative.

I am not going to try and convince anyone to do the same and any attempt from anyone either here or in the real world to disuade me will be fruitless.

I was born into the miners strikes in a mining community destroyed by Thatcher.

I hate the fact that Thatchers govement privatised our national industries and pretty much despise what they did in every way.

After a lifetime of hating the Conservative party I am now going to vote for them.

I am stunned at my decision but thats the way it has gone.

I need a beer.

Is the reason primarily economic?  Or, does the Muslim tide have anything to do with it?

The muslim tide has been the result of some entirely unrelated situations.

Germany admitted "guest workers" during the 1960s to deal with labor shortage, in their bursting economy. Among them were Greeks, Portuguese, and Turks-muslims that eventually birthed the resentful next generations, etc.

The UK admits people from anywhere in their "commonwealth" including Pakistan, India and Nigeria.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_of_Nations

Of course there are other historical situations, like France-Algeria.

One major purpose of the EU was free movement of the economic factors of production, including materials and most of all people.

So once inside the EU an individual can move about with little scrutiny. Over time the cost of international airfare has decreased, populations have grown, personal freedoms have "liberalized" etc.

Finally and possibly most important, the home countries of the Islamic hordes are 3rd world shitholes, and people want to go to better places. Good people get to Europe, and provide perfect camouflage for the bad ones.

The bad ones in Germany are the sons and grandsons of the first generation, who were good ones, so to speak. Same applies in the UK.

Other major aspects of the rise of Islam are:

When America and other nations turned over their oil resources to Islamic control in the name of anti-colonialism and, of course, "fairness". At the time, 50s/60s, Islam was considered a cute primitive oddity. They were not taken seriously at all. Give them pseudo control, we will still pull the strings was the idea. And it worked until Whabbism began to take hold and Islamic militancy began to rise.

Then we have the Israelis. Many people do not know this but Israel was once a very far, far, Left hippy nation and supported the Muslims at every turn. They wanted to create a utopia of Arab and Jew in Israel. Therefore, they did not drive them all out to Jordan, which they could have easily done in 67, but allowed them to stay in-country and offered them citizenship. (They, like Germany, also wanted cheap labor.) But it was more than that. Once the nation of Israel accepted and started to use the fictitious term "Palestinian", which is not a real thing, they constructed a nation which would be against them forever. Their Liberalism was so strong that they could not see the threat they themselves were building. Either you are Israeli, or, get the hell out, would have been a better response.

Then we get to our old friend Jimmah Caatah, who for whatever reason was in love with Islam and considered them to be an 'oppressed people'. So, he overthrew a stanch American ally in Iran and replaced him with a lunatic mullah who wanted to kill just about everybody on Earth. Jimmah, because he is an idiot and a hippy, thought the Ayatollah was a "nice old religious guy". You know, kind of like Santa Claus. Iran after Jimmah's enlightened interference went on to found and build the international global terrorism syndicate that we are dealing with today. Thanks Jimmuh.

The binding theme in all of these things is a discounting of a people as stupid little primitives so we should 'help' them. This is combined with blind Liberalism and the eternal quest for 'fairness', which, obviously, Islam does not give a shit about.

Lack of understanding and a very naive Christian Western view of different cultures and people, has brought us all to this place.

A Jewish proverb says, "What starts out as the tug of a spiders web, can turn into the binding of a rope."

We could have stopped this. But our leaders were too blind and fanatically idealistic to see what they were doing. Even as it was slapping them in the face.

Israel took the land from the British and the Jordanians. There never were any 'Palestinians'. But once they bought into it. They owned it.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

Thanks, T_S!
One more reason for the muslim horde in Europe: Many nations there feel the equivalent of "white guilt" and have admitted "refugees" from all over the globe, including many fleeing the Balkans, who happen to be muslins, e.g.. Albanians, Bosnians, etc.

Iranians have been draining out of there, for decades. See the free West, and want to remain.

One last one:

Galloway Takes Legal Action Over Bradford Defeat

George Galloway has announced he is taking legal action against the newly elected MP for Bradford West, alleging her team lied about him to affect the outcome of the election.

Labour's Naz Shah comfortably beat the incumbent Mr Galloway, from the Respect Party, in what was one of the most bitter election battles in the country.

Alleged smearing, online trolling, assault and a possible infringement of election law are all being investigated by police.

And on Sunday night Mr Galloway announced he was seeking legal action in the hope of getting the election outcome overturned.

"It has come to my notice that there has been widespread malpractice in this election, particularly over postal voting," he said in a statement.

Couldn't happen to a nicer sleezebag. Though the brewery he threatened is having a damned good laugh at him.
