Quote
Earlier this month, 21-year-old Tsarnaev was found guilty on all charges related to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing
The next phase of his trial began Tuesday, and now jurors will decide whether to sentence him to life in prison or the death penalty
Prosecutors gave opening statements Tuesday morning, which were punctuated with a never-before-seen image of Tsarnaev
The photo was taken a few months after his arrest, and shows him flipping off a camera in his jail cell
Tsarnaev's defense attorneys will not be giving opening statements until next week
They are expected to argue that Tsarnaev was just following orders from his older brother, and therefore not fully responsible
Several survivors of the attack have spoken out against the death penalty for Tsarnaev, which would bring years of appeals

I  say put him to death, right before his death flip him the bird.

Is there any chance of this guy actually being executed even if he is sentenced to such?

There are many states with active death penalty laws and convictions whose death row inmates are entering their third and even fourth decade living there.   We haven't even come around to execute that Sgt. Hasan Akbar, the traitorous Islamist murderer who killed two officers from the 101st in Kuwait when they were staging for OIF in 2003.    It's become a joke.

This is a federal trial, so death sentence is an option. But the jury is from liberal, death penalty averse Massachusetts, so there is a chance they jury will decide for life.

As far as how long, until an execution--McVey was put to death six years after his crime (federal case).
