Media Screams Racism At Small-Town Corruption Story Because It Feeds The Narrative

Because every cop is racist, and everything is about racism, the media is glomming onto a story out of small-town Parma, Missouri.

After almost 40 years with the same mayor, residents of this town of about 700 voted in Tyrus Byrd, a black woman. Shortly before she was sworn in, though, five of the city’s police officers, the city attorney, city clerk and water treatment supervisor abruptly resigned.

Of course, the media is quickly jumping to the conclusion that all those police and city officials are a bunch of filthy racists, when I’m willing to wager that’s not the case at all.

The outgoing mayor, Randall Ramsey said those city officials resigned because of “safety concerns.” That’s almost certainly bullshit too. But it’s far more likely that these officers and city officials resigned because after 37 years, they’re no longer able to hide their corrupt dealings. For example, why does a city of 700 people need six police officers? And with a crime rate much higher than the national average.

But as expected, the media frenzy’s got people talking. Ignorant people whose caterwauls of racism are as predictable as the sunset.

parma raceByrd was born and raised in Parma. She used to serve as the City Clerk and was voted in by residents there. Race has nothing to do with it. It’s small-town corruption. I hope mayor Byrd cleans things up and shuts down the nonsense cries of “racism.”
