Hillary Clinton will announce she’s running for president tomorrow — on Twitter and social media. She’s also sending out the announcement in an email. Be ready to hit the delete button.
It’s an uphill climb getting behind a candidate who while secretary of state didn’t deploy military backup when terrorists were launching RPGs at our U.S. consulate in Libya and let our brave men — including a U.S. ambassador — die as a result.
It’s also hard to trust someone who clearly breaks the rules by operating her own email “burner” while in office and then attempts to hide it.
Clinton recently said in a press conference that the reason she had her own private email system was due to “convenience.” She didn’t want to carry more than one device. But when she gave a speech recently at a Silicon Valley event she admitted she uses phones and tablets.
Clearly trust will be a big issue if Hillary becomes commander in chief. And yes it does matter.
“Leadership requires honesty and integrity. Especially in times of crisis,” said Kris Paronto, a former CIA contractor who fought off terrorists in Benghazi. “If she becomes commander in chief, how can our military trust someone who hung their brothers out to dry?”
Perhaps this is the reason for Hillary’s scripted roll-out on social media. She can evade questions and, thereby, accountability.
By operating behind a desktop, she can have PR experts tweet her announcement and then go hide. She doesn’t have to answer any real questions in a Town Hall setting or press conference.
Here’s a few questions I’d like to ask:
• How can you accept millions from Middle Eastern countries who oppress and abuse women and girls?
• If you had nothing to hide in your emails, why not hand them all over to an independent third party?
• How can you say you were dead broke when leaving the White House when your family net worth is in the millions?
• Why do you claim to support the environment but demand to be flown in private jets — burning through the ozone?
• How can you speak to rising tuition costs when you requested colleges and universities pay you $300,000 for a speech?
You see, it’s much easier to tweet a presidential run than face real questions. Guess that was the whole point.
