GOP: Reid ‘playing political games’ with victimized women, kids

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is launching robocalls against Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) over an anti-trafficking bill.
Democrats Tuesday blocked the Senate from moving forward on the legislation because it includes the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funds from being used on abortions.
The NRSC will use target independent women in Colorado and Nevada with the calls.
The NRSC's script asks for voters to call Reid and "tell him to stop playing political games with women and children who have been victimized by human traffickers."
Though Reid hasn't formally launched his reelection bid, he told reporters earlier this year that he plans to run again in 2016. If he runs, he'll be a top target for Republican groups.
The NRSC said Nevadans "deserve to know" why Reid is leading a filibuster of the anti-trafficking measure.
"Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid is torpedoing this bipartisan bill for political gain,” NRSC spokesman Jahan Wilcox said in a statement. “With over 300,000 children at risk of sexual exploitation each year, Nevada families deserve to know why he’s standing in the way of this bipartisan achievement.”
