Mexican Government Condemns US Police For Officer-Involved Shooting

By Brian Anderson, February 14, 2015.

Not only doesn’t Mexico do anything to protect its citizens, the police and military are so corrupt that they actually help the bad guys slaughter their own people. I bring this up because in a seriously hypocritical move, the Mexican government is condemning a US police department over the fatal shooting of a deranged man this week.

Police in Pasco, WA confronted Antonio Zambrano-Montes in grocery store parking lot on Tuesday, where the crazed Mexican pelted them with rocks. Officers tried to subdue the man with a stun gun, but it had no effect. Zambrano-Montes refused to comply with the officers and continued to throw rocks. He was shot and killed.

In the video, you can see three officers open fire on the man, but they either miss, or the shots have no effect. He runs across the street, then turns at the officers again and raises his arm to throw more rocks. At this point he is shot and killed.

Two of the officers were struck by rocks and sustained injuries in the attack. The cops have been placed on administrative leave and an investigation will determine if this was a righteous shooting.

However, standard protocol following an officer-involved shooting is not good enough for some people. The Mexican Government has a problem with American policing tactics and our system of justice, according to Reuters, and issued this condemnation of the incident:

Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Ministry called for an exhaustive investigation of the killing of Antonio Zambrano-Montes…

“Mexico’s government strongly condemns incidents in which lethal force is used disproportionately,” the ministry said in a statement late on Thursday. “These unfortunate events damage communities and they erode confidence in the authorities.”

Holy crap! With the way Mexican Federales assist drug cartels in killing thousands every year can you believe someone from the government had the cajones to say that about US police?

Even their corrupt El Presidente got in on the action:

Speaking in Mexico City on Friday afternoon, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto reiterated the condemnation of the disproportionate use of lethal force and said he had instructed officials to support Zambrano-Montes’ family.

“I’ve told them to pay close attention to the investigation into this indignant and lamentable event,” he said.

I think Mexico needs to clean up its own yard before it starts worrying a few weeds on its neighbor’s lawn. This is like a serial killer complaining that a shoplifter is causing a blight on society.

If Mexico really wants to protect its citizens from the big bad American police, they should do more to keep them from sneaking into the country. Reuters describes Zambrano-Montes only as “Mexican-born.” Clearly he is a citizen of Mexico and it wouldn’t surprise me if he were in the US illegally.

Had he stayed in Mexico, he’d still be alive. Had he not chosen to throw rocks at police officers, he wouldn’t have been shot. Zambrano-Montes made poor choices that led to his own death. He’s the Mexican Michael Brown.
