Former President George W. Bush is on the speakers list for the Republican Jewish Coalition meeting in April, fueling speculation he'll be heading back onto the campaign trail for brother Jeb Bush in his likely GOP presidential bid, the Washington Examiner reports.
The newspaper said Bush's spot among keynote speakers was announced in an email to supporters Thursday.
The former president — who's been mostly reluctant to voice his opinions on political matters since leaving the White House — has lately vigorously vouched for his younger brother's qualifications as presidential material.
"I hope Jeb runs," Bush said in an interview last year. "I think he would be a great president."
Jeb Bush told the Detroit Economic Club on Wednesday his famous last name is "an interesting challenge for me," the Washington Examiner reports. "If I have any self awareness, this might be the place where it would have to be applied."
Yet, he said, "it doesn't bother me a bit to be proud of them. I love them," Bush added, the newspaper reports. "But I know for a fact if I'm going to be successful ... then I'm going to have to do it on my own."
House Speaker John Boehner and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who may also be thinking about a run for the White House in 2016, are also scheduled to speak at the Republican Jewish Coalition meeting April 24-26 in Las Vegas, the Washington Examiner reports.
The meeting will be held at the Venetian Hotel, owned by wealthy donor Sheldon Adelson, the Washington Examiner notes.
