Hollywood Star Blasts Democrat Howard Dean for Attack on “American Sniper”

The brilliant actor Gary Sinise is well known for his work in our community of veterans. After co-starring as Lt. Dan in the movie Forrest Gump he formed the “Lt. Dan Band” playing shows for our military all over the world. He has been a tireless supporter of the men and women in our Armed Forces and many of them love him for it.

Now he’s speaking out because of something disgusting that Democrat Party leader Howard Dean said recently on the Bill Maher show.

“There’s a lot of anger in this country, and the people who go see this movie are people who are very angry. And this guy basically says ‘I’m going to fight on your side.’ … I bet you if you looked at a cross-section of the Tea Party and the people who go to see this movie, there’s a lot of intersection.”

Apparently, he believes that anyone who wants to see a movie about an American hero is either a) angry b) a tea party conservative or c) both. Also, embedded in his vile quote is the impression that tea party conservatives are somehow more violent than the rest of the country. When in fact, that couldn’t be further from the truth. (Seriously, statistically speaking conservative communities where the tea party thrives are far less violent and have far less crime than more liberal communities.)

Anyway. Gary Sinise had a response for Dean’s vile insinuations… and boy was it EPIC. He sahred his thoughts on the Celebrity site WhoSay and to Twitter.

To Howard Dean,
I saw American Sniper and would not consider myself to be an angry person. You certainly have a right to make stupid blanket statements, suggesting that all people who see this film are angry, but how is that helpful sir? Do you also suggest that everyone at Warner Brothers is angry because they released the film? That Clint Eastwood, Jason Hall, Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and the rest of the cast and crew are angry because they made the film? Chris Kyle's story deserved to be told. It tells a story of the stress that multiple deployments have on one military family, a family representative of thousands of military families. It helps to communicate the toll that the war on terror has taken on our defenders. Defenders and families who need our support. I will admit that perhaps somewhere among the masses of people who are going to see the film there may be a few that might have some anger or have been angry at some point in their lives, but, with all due respect, what the hell are you talking about?

Awesome. Just awesome.

Sinise is awesome. He definitely has his priorities straight.  :patriot:

As a Vietnam veteran the only show-folks I remember supporting us troops was Bob Hope and the Golddiggers.

Saw them in Saigon (Bien Hoa Air Force Base) for a Christmas show.

The rest of the time when traveling at home I hid the fact that I was a serviceman. Except for my short hair, which gave me away. Hey, it was 1972. No one had shorthair except for servicemen.

Weird, that they couldn't include his name in the freaking title...."Hollywood Star, Gary Sinise,.................."
